Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made an appearance at the Harvard Kennedy School this week and told people that he was picked to be Kamala Harris’ running mate because he could ‘code talk’ to white guys.
That strategy didn’t work out too well for the Harris campaign, did it? Democrats lost men of all races by a wide margin. In fact, the Democratic party is struggling to figure out how to win back male voters who have deserted them in record numbers.

While he liked to think he was chosen because of his delivering “amazing progressive things in Minnesota,” he acknowledged a large part was to connect with white swing-state voters.
“I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck, I could put them at ease,”
Walz said. “I was the permission structure to say, ‘Look you can do this and vote for this.’”
Walz noted, however, that they “didn’t get enough of those votes,” and acknowledged missteps during the Democrats’ 107-day campaign but said he is aiming to help the party rebuild ahead of the next election cycle.

I lived in Venezuela in the past when it was before Chavez. When someone spins you a tale that is totally unbelievable the reaction to say you are lying is to put ones finger below the lower eyelid and pull in down to reveal the total eyeball with a grimace and look at the liar. It needed no words, it simply said you are full of shit.

Venezuela was great duty before the communist Chavez took control. The nation was corrupt and thus Chavez represented a different path and he did win his first election honestly. All elections since are a sham. His party did not win one election since his oddly legitimate first election.

There is a oddly obscure bridge between Cucata, Columbia and San Cristoble, Venezuela. I have crossed that bridge frequently years ago. It was the nearest airport in Columbia to get a flight to Bogota and other places in Columbia. Today that bridge is a bridge of tragedy. Today thousand cross that bridge to get away from communist Venezuela.
