The shaming of Kemi Badenoch for not watching it confirms the Netflix show has become a neo-religion.
How long before Kemi Badenoch has a cardboard placard hung round her neck, Cultural Revolution style, to let the world know she still hasn’t watched Adolescence?
It’s getting to that stage. First Nick Ferrari of LBC accused her of a ‘dereliction of duty’ for failing to watch the Netflix drama. Then professional tit James O’Brien said it is ‘unthinkable’ that she has ‘swerved this programme’. And now the BBC is grilling her. ‘Have you watched Adolescence yet?’, its presenters barked in McCarthyite tones this week. No, said the sinner. Quick! Shave her head, drag her to the square, parade the Adolescence avoider before the eyes of the apoplectic!
It is getting ridiculous. There’s a trade war, there are real wars and there are real crimes – rape gangs, anyone? – and yet the Beeb thinks the most pressing thing to ask the leader of the opposition about is a TV show. Her inquisition took place on BBC Breakfast. ‘Have you watched Adolescence yet?’, asked host Charlie Stayt. Yet. His truculent utterance of that word left no doubt: anyone who wants to keep sweet with the elites will have to submit eventually and imbibe this holy drama.

I saw it last week.
The basic message was that kids should not have internet, cell phones or social media.
The author talks in circles and doesn’t say one single word about the show itself. At least not in the excerpt.
Watch the series about kiddie ‘influencers’. Yikes!
It’s purpose is similar to Triumph of the Will.
So I guess Kemi is being raked over the coals, for not watching it, because she is sort of Conservative.
Perfect Post of the Day Award.
Have not seen Pancake Bunny for a while.
Thanks so much.
Have not seen any of this other stuff either because no TV at my house.
Never even heard of it.
I am a cultural ignoramus now.
The article is not about the show itself.
My understanding it is very loosely based on an actual event but they change the race and motivation for the crime to make it a misandry film and push for more government control.

Without the snappy choreography I guess.
And watching it, IN SCHOOL, during class time, is required of all.
Not really!
Isn't that kind of ironic? To be criticizing someone for not seeing something whose message is that we don't all have to be constantly connected and seeing what everyone else is seeing?
I get that. Still some context would be nice. Just blowing off steam.
It is propaganda intended to persuade.
Watched it last week. British production brilliantly acted (what else with Stephen Graham as the dad). Each of the four episodes is a roughly hour long (seeming) single camera take with aerial drone and driving shots. Pretty sure that was accomplished with AI. But still, if you’re into the technical aspects it was very impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
They're good actors (in general). I'll give them that.
But it's nothing but pure propaganda. So I won't be watching it.
I don't have Netflix anyway.
