Another day, another leak.
President Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and others in the National Security Council have used Gmail to conduct official government business according to a leak to The Washington Post.
Mike Waltz is already under fire for adding The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat group with high-ranking Trump Administration officials discussing the successful attack on Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
According to The Post, Mike Waltz did not transmit classified information over his Gmail account – unlike Hillary Clinton while she was the head of the Department of State.
The Washington Post reported:
Members of President Donald Trump’s National Security Council, including White House national security adviser Michael Waltz, have conducted government business over personal Gmail accounts, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post and interviews with three U.S. officials.
The use of Gmail, a far less secure method of communication than the encrypted messaging app Signal, is the latest example of questionable data security practices by top national security officials already under fire for the mistaken inclusion of a journalist in a group chat about high-level planning for military operations in Yemen.
A senior Waltz aide used the commercial email service for highly technical conversations with colleagues at other government agencies involving sensitive military positions and powerful weapons systems relating to an ongoing conflict, according to emails reviewed by The Post. While the NSC official used his Gmail account, his interagency colleagues used government-issued accounts, headers from the email correspondence show.
Waltz has had less sensitive, but potentially exploitable information sent to his Gmail, such as his schedule and other work documents, said officials, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe what they viewed as problematic handling of information. The officials said Waltz would sometimes copy and paste from his schedule into Signal to coordinate meetings and discussions.
The media is yet again attacking President Trump’s NatSec Advisor, however they downplayed reports of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama’s use of Gmail and unsecured servers to conduct official government business.
Too bad Biden didn’t ask Hillary Clinton’s advice on how to use BleachBit.
Joe Biden used a private email to send government information he was getting from the State Department to his crackhead, globetrotting son Hunter during the Obama years.
Some Obama Admin officials were aware of Joe Biden’s private email “robinware456@gmail.com” and used it to communicate with him.
Biden was briefed on highly sensitive North Korea missile launch on a private email account.
I'm starting to look at it this way too.
It is who does what that matters. Not the what. A, who in the Political who, can do what and it is ignored. B , who is not in the Political who, can do the same what and it is the unforgivable sin. That is the way the mop flops today.
A is usually a Democrat, or Black. B is usually a Republican, or White.
Who’s on first?......................
“I knew Mike from college and can’t believe how badly he has continued to screw things up. He was a smart and respected guy, but man, this is bad.”
I think there is more to this. There is no way he would be this sloppy unless it was intentional and on purpose. He is a top Intelligence and Technology entity and helped found the analytics and training company Metis Solutions. Metis Solutions was just sold to Pacific Architects and Engineers.
Pacific Architects and Engineers:
Pacific Architects and Engineers (commonly known as PAE, or PA&E) is an American defense and government services contractor. Founded in 1955 by Edward Shay, it is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. For a time after 2016 it was owned by Platinum Equity until it became listed on Nasdaq in 2018. In February 2022 the company merged with Amentum Government Services Holdings LLC and its stock was delisted from Nasdaq.
PAE is a major supplier of services to the U.S. Department of State. Other significant clients have included the United Nations, the UK Ministry of Defence, the New Zealand Defence Force, and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Metis Solutions:
Metis is a leading provider of intelligence analysis, operational and tactical training and program management focused on supporting intelligence community, national security and defense customers. Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, Metis has more than 450 employees, a majority of whom have top secret clearances with subject matter expertise across a broad range of critical national security issues.
He is Globalist/NWO/MIC/CIA. Another Mole in Trump’s back pocket... This is some sort of attempt to sabotage Trump’s agenda by the establishment Deep State.
.
I can see why people would use private email despite rules against it. Sometimes you want to have a private conversation with an advisor without it winding up in the national archive. The problem is it’s hackable and hence not secure.
Purge the leakers!!!!
This is true but it is a reason throw the disingenuous outrage back in the face of the hypocrites.
2 wrongs do not make a right.
Time for him to be cut loose.
It’s Google/Gmail, something to be wary of, in general. Aside from the bad taste that leaves in my mouth, I have used Gmail since the day when you had to receive an invitation to have an account. It is rich in features and very reliable.
And - IMO - it is for personal email. Not business email, and especially not GOVERNMENT use, even at the local level. Trump, Kash - all the department heads: Orders need to go out immediately. This must stop!
Use approved, secured email for anything related to your position.
Meant to include that I find it hard to take even the smallest of businesses seriously if their contact email is a Gmail address. (And YAHOO mail is even more ridiculous!)
I like Gmail for many reasons, but businesses and government need secure, professional solutions, IMO.
I agree. I think he intentionally added Goldberg. His claim that he doesn’t know Goldberg is BS too. There was a picture of them standing a few feet apart in France in 2021 at some global meeting.
This smells like a mole hunt.
Time will tell...
We can’t throw it back in their faces, at least not legitimately, unless we hold our own people up to the standards we claimed to want to hold theirs up to. Just saying “you had no problem with it when it was one of your guys” is not integrity. It just opens us up to the valid accusation from them that “See?! Now that it’s your guy, you really don’t have a problem with it at all. It was fake outrage when you complained about Hillary!”
Who leaked the story?...............
Actually, not to put too fine a point on it, the Democrats turned a blind eye and covered for cankles, when it was discovered during the Benghazi investigation, it was discovered she had covertly set up a computer system in her State Department offices, specifically to bypass government security to transmit classified documents and information.
Quite literally espionage.
That does, however, make her somewhat of an expert on “stupid” stuff . . .
These 4 words is the story. I would say the side story here is WHY hasn't this "aid" been fired yet.
Even moreso, it was Waltz's Deputy Security Advisor who set up the chat on that app, AND it was he who "accidentally" invited Goldberg to that chat. How is Alex Wong not fired yet???
(Alex Wong's wife, Candice Chiu Wong, clerked for Sotomayor, AND was a Jan 6 prosecutor. FYI and OMG!!!)
The logic here is that there is nothing wrong with this behavior because Democrats did it too.
Disgusting.
Any rational thinking adult can see that it is not good. With the trillions we spend, how can the White House NOT have its own dedicated and totally secure app??? How can an opposition reporter... essentially the enemy... get invited and not be noticed for the entire hour of that conversation???
In the end, the attacks went as they should, which is expected, but you cannot say that the situation was not a SNAFU. Things need to get tightened up.
