LATEST LEAK: Mike Waltz, Aide Accused of Using Gmail For Official Government Communication – But These Same People Said Nothing When Obama, Hillary and Joe Biden Were Caught Using Gmail

Another day, another leak.

President Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and others in the National Security Council have used Gmail to conduct official government business according to a leak to The Washington Post.

Mike Waltz is already under fire for adding The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat group with high-ranking Trump Administration officials discussing the successful attack on Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

According to The Post, Mike Waltz did not transmit classified information over his Gmail account – unlike Hillary Clinton while she was the head of the Department of State.

The Washington Post reported:

Members of President Donald Trump’s National Security Council, including White House national security adviser Michael Waltz, have conducted government business over personal Gmail accounts, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post and interviews with three U.S. officials.

The use of Gmail, a far less secure method of communication than the encrypted messaging app Signal, is the latest example of questionable data security practices by top national security officials already under fire for the mistaken inclusion of a journalist in a group chat about high-level planning for military operations in Yemen.

A senior Waltz aide used the commercial email service for highly technical conversations with colleagues at other government agencies involving sensitive military positions and powerful weapons systems relating to an ongoing conflict, according to emails reviewed by The Post. While the NSC official used his Gmail account, his interagency colleagues used government-issued accounts, headers from the email correspondence show.

Waltz has had less sensitive, but potentially exploitable information sent to his Gmail, such as his schedule and other work documents, said officials, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe what they viewed as problematic handling of information. The officials said Waltz would sometimes copy and paste from his schedule into Signal to coordinate meetings and discussions.

The media is yet again attacking President Trump’s NatSec Advisor, however they downplayed reports of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama’s use of Gmail and unsecured servers to conduct official government business.

Too bad Biden didn’t ask Hillary Clinton’s advice on how to use BleachBit.

Joe Biden used a private email to send government information he was getting from the State Department to his crackhead, globetrotting son Hunter during the Obama years.

Some Obama Admin officials were aware of Joe Biden’s private email “robinware456@gmail.com” and used it to communicate with him.

Biden was briefed on highly sensitive North Korea missile launch on a private email account.

I knew Mike from college and can’t believe how badly he has continued to screw things up. He was a smart and respected guy, but man, this is bad. Not sure how Trump keeps him on at this point.

Not ready for prime time. Shouda stayed in the house. These special elections should be unnecessary.

Do we know if this is true. A :Leaker” to the WP seems self-serving.

It’s not just him. It looks like this has been going on for a long time both Republican and Democrat administrations. They have been sloppy. Things need tightening.

When I was working and the Fed-gov was my customer, it was REALLY important (and beaten into us twice a year) to use ONLY official email, Teams, etc for EVERY communication that involved our customers.

*IF* you used private email or a ‘convenient’ method for sharing files, it was a fire-able offense.

We could only use our work phones and work voice mail. WE never used ANY ‘secure messaging services’ unless we were using an authorized .mil or .gov account.

This sh!t needs to stop. HE needs to go.

There needs to be a canary trap set for these leakers. Something juicy they cant ignore and the MSM can't help themselves publishing.

And then bring the hammer down.

In February SecState Clinton was reported to Diplomatic Security and IRM for utilizing an officialo title, e.g., SecState, with a private email address, e.g., HRC22@ClintonMail.com.

The individual who reported this matter was immediately verbally reprimanded by his Ambassador, who said he had never reprimanded someone while not being allowed to know for what it was or one that was verbal. Within in 72 hrs this individual was to report directly to an Embassy in Africa without return to DC or normal assignment processes. That same week the individual and his wife were attacked in the market at noon time in Georgetown Guyana two blocks form the American Embassy Georgetown. Two weeks before his departure from post, he and his wife were again attacked by a man weilding a cricket bat behind their official residence. The Management Officer led the RSO Investigation personally and stated that their was no evidence of an attack, even though it was apparent to all present both indivuals were attacked, and their was blood form the attacker on the rock as reported in the sworn statements. Both the husband and wife were branded liars and hoaxers. The final two weeks at post were followed by the Management Officer refusing to allow the man to be present for any of the alloted four days to outpack his residence, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars of personal property, again denied by the MO. MO was reprimainded by both IG and EO at State, and his immediate supervisor was fired and removed form post same day first bird smoking when the whistle blower dropped 18-months of harrassment against the supervisor and Management Officer who was USAID. Additionally, the supervisor was removed from the State Department Foreign Service rolls and placed in a USG Civilian Position working at State, and he was barred from ever supervising any employees again as part of the settlement.

Nothing happened to HRC. The employee eventually had enough, and during a Medivac. It was three years before he recieved a Retirment Award for 38 years service to the USG.

A 2019 follow up to Judical Watch resulted in a four hour meeting that led to zero actions. Individual was told to go home and enjoy life... that JD did in fact have all the documentation for a case but the individual might have personal problems so to drop it. JD maintained an active relationship with individual for two months for the purposes of getting help on a VA Claim, but it was actually to guage weather or not the individual had DROPPED THE CASE.

The State Dept had a modem line installed into the Secretary’s 7th floor suite where Huma A-dingdong sat and she hooked up her personal computer via modem to the Clinton Foundation Server and Outlook Email where donars could obtain an email address, and with special instructions from the Foundation, access other Email Accounts using Admin Procedures to gain access to secret or higher information from State, and from the Obama Team meetings.

The fact that IRM and Dip Sec worked with USAID (just another cover position for the agency) to protect Obama Admin who were all using fake aliases from company servers, public providers, etc.

People that circumvent procedures are doing it for personal gain and/or treason.

People who put the globalist agenda ahead of the Constitutional Rights of Americans are criminal elites.

The question really is why does the left want to take him out so bad? I’m having a hard time believing these are unforced errors especially since the usual leftist sources are driving it.

If Waltz really did what is claimed here, then the leaker is perhaps more like a whistleblower. After all, this is a national security issue.

(And yes, I know Democrats have done much, much worse.)

Yes, thought about that - but jumping from everything is groovy to going to the press is awfully abrupt. All sorts of ways to jump a chain of command to get word "upstairs" that something needs to be addressed. There hasn't been enough time for those routes to be exhausted before going outside the organization.

Hence, I lean more towards a held-over staffer - although why there are ANY of those is as much a problem as the deed itself..

Yes, it is bad. Just because I'm a Trump supporter doesn't mean I'm giving them all a knobby.

For starters, it'd be a violation of a Federal Records Act, since a FOIA request would be harder to fulfill from some random gmail account.

Hell, I'm in local government and our state Sunshine Act requires using a gov't issued email for all correspondence.

Just because the Democrats are hypocrites doesn’t mean we can or should be. IF it’s true (and that’s a bit IF), then he should be fired. Then the hypocrisy of the Democrats is brought into greater relief and the whole issue goes away for the Trump administration (“See how we deal with those who jeopardize national security?! This is what should have happened to Hillary!”) until we bring it up again in a context that is advantageous.
