He’s going full Michelle Obama, LOL!
Hopefully this means the soda shelf at the store doesn’t do barren over the weekend.
Will this affect those of us in the areas where it’s correctly called “pop?”
This is what fascism looks like. /s
SNAP should only be used for meat/seafood, dairy, beans, fruits and vegetables.
But many recipients sell their Food Stamps for a lesser amount in cash (say, $100 stamps for $80 cash), then use the cash to buy alcohol, cigarettes, or whatever else they like.
25% of pepsi and coca cola sales are through SNAP, don’t think they are not gonna fight this, and do not be surprised if they don’t do something extreme like fund rioters in black neighborhoods so they can claim “this is what happens when you deny people our soda”
Carbonated beverages are like going after spitting on the sidewalk.
EBT cards are used as currency in the underground for drugs and other things.
But JFK jr has his obsessions.
EBT should be eliminated. Any food aid should be dried beans, powdered milk, flour, and cheese.
What about purple drank?
And he's not outlawing it, just saying, we won't use federal taxpayer dollars to subsidize it. Buy your sugar water on your own nickel.
I have no problem with that at all.
I know the cheerleaders here aren’t going to like this, but he’s quickly making my s**t list.
I want action on covid policies and the jabs. Like last month. I heard a damned commercial on the jabs last week. WTH?
But the more time that passes it looks like it will never happen.
I’m not so sure this is a good idea or maybe it is. I mean I kind of like some cola or other soda with a couple slices of pizza or maybe a sub or other meal. On the other hand it’s not the most healthy thing, soda drinks are partly to cause for a lot of health problems. Perhaps there should be a limit instead of banning it altogether?
Riots to start.
Which I am OK with. They eat better than I do.
That just isn’t fair.
Back when I was a kid, there was a ten cent deposit on soda bottles. We could buy six packs of sodas with food stamps, pour out the soda (like, why would anyone want to drink that slop), and go back to the store and get ten cents cash for each bottle. Then we would go to the arcade and play pinball for a bit. Rinse, repeat.
I guess kids these days don’t even know that, once upon a time, they could get money for pinball by creative use of food stamps.
If he’s serious about health, maybe he’ll ban a certain large fast food burger joint too? Just my opinion
Finally someone who really cares.
Tough beans.
They don’t have to like it. They just have to live with it.
You take handouts from the government for free stuff then take the strings attached.
I love Coke Zero. Why is this an approved food stamp item in the first place?
