Very surprising, coming from Cornish.
But then again, let’s not give her too much credit.
Sounds like Cornish might have been speaking as something of a Democrat strategist. Why not give up a measly 1% of overall funding, and in doing so, take the perennial issue away from the Republicans?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
They should compete in the marketplace without taxpayer dollars. But, I would imagine Bill Gates or similar will subsidize the beejebers out of them.
I agree. Just eliminate the ‘cloud’ of legitimacy and let the leftists pay for it themselves. Let them compete for a change because you can’t censor them.
We need to revoke the broadcast licenses of all of their TV affiliates.
They do not serve the public interest.
They are leftist propagandists.
Good, and drop the P.
The crazy left (redundant) keep saying fed funding is only 8% of their budget.
So what’s the big deal? Why are they freaking out?
Pull their FCC licenses. Why does the DNC get their own television and radio networks?
Remember Air America?
How long have Republicans been complaining about NPR and PBS?
Same with Planned Parenthood.
Why do Republican representatives ignore their own constituents?
Maybe Deep State elites stepped up and offered to fund it. They need this outlet more than patriots need it.
Both NPR and PBS have for *years* been pushing the idea that they can blow off federal funding, because they are so popular. However, this is an obvious bluff, and when there is a serious debate about cutting them off, the left freaks out.
I occasionally listen to NPR for “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and used to like “Car Talk.” Everything on there is “sponsored” by some DEI loving corporation. It’s absurd to pretend they aren’t supported by commercials.
