Denver Public Schools has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over a policy allowing ICE immigration agents to enter schools. The federal lawsuit claims that the policy has caused attendance to plummet due to the amount of illegal aliens in the district.
“DPS is hindered in fulfilling its mission of providing education and life services to the students who are refraining from attending DPS schools for fear of immigration enforcement actions occurring on DPS school grounds,” the lawsuit states, according to a report from ABC News.
“Parents across Denver enroll their children in public schools believing that while at school, their children will be educated and enriched without fear the government will enforce immigration laws on those premises,” the lawsuit continues.
The lawsuit says there are roughly 4,000 illegal aliens in the school district, primarily Hispanic or Latino.
The complaint claims the Trump administration has not provided a “good reason” for the policy change.
“Denver is standing up for its children and families and protecting the right of all children, regardless of their immigration status, to attend public schools,” Elora Mukherjee, director of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at Columbia Law School, said in a statement to ABC.

The primary purpose of our dysfunctional government at all levels has become to grow in size and power. And it is aiding an abetting this invasion because it suits what is in its best interest, not ours.
Denver public schools get FEDERAL money for kids attending school, so they want those kids in those seats. What isn’t said in this article is the school district will lose lots of federal dollars if those kids don’t show up to school.
The FEDS are scaring the illegals kiddos out of school so the schools lose money.
You’ve got two parts of the FedGov working against each other. One trying to keep illegals out of the country and the other paying to have illegals in school in the seats.
That has to stop.
4000 illegal alien students equates to over 100 million dollars per year in spending in the Denver school district alone. .
That’s insane and has to stop.

Note to Colorado, ICE does not need your "permission" to enforce federal law anywhere in the US.
The only reason ICE did not enter schools and churches in the past was because on an internal policy. That policy has changed.
Will ICE start routinely doing enforcement actions at schools, no. The last thing they want are unaccompanied juvys.
And who got thrown in jail for this non compliance with ICE? Oh nobody? Then things are still the same for these kids as was when Biden was president. Not acceptable
The district claims “Good Reason” was not provided. I guess that enforcement of existing immigration laws is not considered “good reason”.
The parents are getting a free education on government enforcement of immigration laws. The parents and their spawn have been enriched enough from the taxpayers.
