Fox News obtained exclusive information regarding the crew members aboard the Army helicopter at the time of the accident. The instructor pilot commanding the Black Hawk boasted 1,000 flying hours.
Meanwhile, his co-pilot was a woman with 500 flying hours, considered to be a standard level of experience in aviation circles.
The revelation that the co-pilot was a woman has reignited ongoing debates about gender roles within military operations.

We have known many great women pilots. We live on an airpark, an airport withhouses around it. Our next-door neighbor is a woman pilot. The lady in the house 3 doors down is now a retired airline pilot and her daughter is a Captain for United. My favorite flight instructor many years ago was a woman.
One nice thing about my favorite flight instructor is that she didn't pretend to know everything. She was the only acrobatically qualified instructor at the flight school I was going to. When I went up to do spin training with her... I was expecting a more thrilling experience. After we spun the aircraft in both directions several times she asked, “Are you happy now?”
I replied, “Not really. What happens if you don't take corrective action and let up on the yoke and rudder pressure?”
Just about every male instructor I know would have said authoritatively that the aircraft would have keep spinning until it crashed into the ground. She seemed a little exasperated and said, “I don't have any idea. Why don't you try it?" To me this was almost a challenge.
The plane went nose down and spun around about 5 or 6 times then it ended up picking up enough speed that it came out of the spin on its own. I let up on the yoke and the rudder and we actually lost less altitude and picked up less speed than when we used the normal procedure, which is to cut the throttle, release back pressure on the yoke and give full opposite rudder.
This probably would not work well in the airplane that my wife and I currently own, even in the aerobatic airplane we were flying in it was unexpected. But I always respected her for not giving an answer to something that she was not sure of.
I don't know for sure how it was that the clowns in the helicopter managed to fly into the path of an airliner. It may not have been DEI directly, but it could be that the instructor was paying more attention to his young likely attractive student than actually flying the helicopter. The instructor was the pilot in command; he is the one who will rightly be blamed for this tragedy.

The important part is qualifications but we will discuss their agenda.
WOW so was watching Fox News now and according to the Washington Compost(Yeah go figure) on Tuesday night, the EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED..yet no collision happened..so wait, this happened literally two days ago and NO ONE said a freakin word
It’s always the usual suspects
according to the compost, the exact same thing happened Tuesday night, same circumstances, except that time no collision how come no one told us about this
He shoots from the hip, most of the time.
Just like incompetent Blackhawk pilot Tammy Duckworth.
Please don’t hurt fwdude too badly...
Strange, but just a few days ago President Trump kicked DEI out of the army and out of the FAA, et cetera. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
Being reported that it was seriously understaffed. Maybe half? Not sure. Supposedly this ATC was doing the job of two. (Think I heard that on War Room.)
The third person in the helicopter was a crew chief. I do not think that a crew chief is a pilot
“Do you want to be called a lunatic? Yes? No?
If not then loose the claim that the helo climbed in altitude several hundred feet, prior to impact.”
Cool it Skippy. I was going off a graphic posted earlier which showed the helicopter climbed to 350’ before the collision.
Maybe I should have known some ppl would use this opportunity to have a ‘Big Event experience’ and grandstand.
I got a great idea. Why don’t you use this opportunity to enlist in the armed forces -show your commitment to serving your nation rather than your emotions and ego. For Likes and Clicks of course.
“Sarcasm on my part.”
Relax. It was obviously a joke, and if they can’t take a joke, f-em.
Military helicopters use a different channel (which is known/accessible in the Control Tower)
She got shot up pretty good, and was the first person to ever land an A-10 without hydraulics...
I have been a licensed pilot for over 35 years, my original Flight Instructor was a girl my age. Things have changed a lot though since then.
(The important part is qualifications )
And race!
Was she born a woman?
No child is born one particular sex...i.e., male/female. But are ‘assigned’ one or the other at birth! 🗣spit
The above is sarcasm btw. I’m really getting tired of hearing that ‘assigned’ crap. Like, maybe, they could have gotten it wrong. It can then be rectified by the parents, school, peers, doctors and of course, themselves. I feel sorry for this society.
