On Friday’s “Alex Marlow Show,” host and Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow talked about the NFL playoffs.
Marlow said, “You guys know the NFL just rigs it for the Chiefs, right? Because they need to have Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. … [T]hat does seem real, right? … I don’t follow sportsball that close. I haven’t watched any football this year, I don’t think. … I’ve seen some of the calls.”

It is all about PERCEPTION.
And when the NFL and the television networks got in bed with the gamblers, EVERY miscall appears to be more than a miscall.
How many NFL games have hinged on a face mask call this year?
Any 15 yard penalty called in the 4th quarter of close game will likely determine the outcome of the game.
Sometimes they call it when it’s clearly not and sometimes they just don’t call an obvious face mask.
Since a face mask call cannot be reviewed, the game with the missed call STINKS to high heaven.
I watch some NFL games but frankly I am rooting against the NFL.
Goodell has killed the sport with all the greed not to mention the wokeness.
Too many games, and too many playoff games.
And I can NEVER forgive Jerry Jones for kneeling.
I will give the games a watch tomorrow.
I am rooting for Washington.

At this point she’s well past her time and still going. At her age Elvis was trying a “comeback” special.
Except there’s no perception of it either. The fact of the matter is the last thing any of the betting houses want is things rigged. All the odds and lines and everything are set, and tweaked, to get enough money on both sides of the bet that no matter the outcome the house wins. The only time sports books ever lose money is if somebody puts their thumb on the scale. So they don’t want anybody rigging the games. The leagues make the same money from the books regardless (sponsor money, same as Bud), so they don’t want anybody rigging the game. The players make way too much money for mobsters to be able to bribe them, and they want to win, so they ain’t rigging the game.
The fact is nobody is rigging the game. And that is the perception for anybody that actually pays attention. The only people saying they’re rigged are the same group of morons that have to rag on everything because that’s the only way they feel good about themselves. They’ve been saying the NFL, and everything else for that matter, is rigged for decades, because they’re sad stupid little creatures.
And for greed. The NFL is a BUSINESS. It exists to make money. And always more money. And it’s doing that. Adding $2 billion in revenue every year shows the sport ain’t anywhere near killed, not through greed or wokeness or anything else. It is a license to print money.

Thats the thing...at this level of skilled play, the games can be extremely close. Any biased or wrong call can sway the game.

College sports are now seeing weird officiating with all the new gambling.
Michigan cheating came to light only as a result of a Las Vagas gambling commission investigation... on University computers in the asst coaches office, discovering the evidence of the video taping and theft of OSU football archieves, porn, and the offending IP Address placing bets at half time in games going back to 2018 thru 2022.
Having many of your Interceptions reversed because of a penalty isn’t unusual but many many more than the average number says something isn’t right
Gambling interests used to try to stay in the shadows, now they openly sponsor most of sports radio and some of network/cable TV.
BTW, for all you gamblers out there, I've got (almost) a sure "bet"...
...the Detroit Lions will NEVER win(or even play in) a Super Bowl...as long as the Ford family owns the team.
The abused stepped children of the NFL (one of anyway) can attribute their recent success based on the fact that the fan-base (after almost 70 years of supporting yellow-flag abuse/ownership futility) finally began to check-out...no more full stadiums, no more watching games/buying merchandise....particularly among the 'yutes(along with some of us old farts)
...just too many other entertaining things available now(in the digital age)to fill the void of watching an old/bad product/sport theatrical production.
That’s what the big push for the gay players was about. NFL has max saturation with males, the only way to increase the demo is by attracting girls & gays. Hence, Beyonce half-time concerts.

I don’t really think the game is rigged for a lot of reasons.
I understand your point about books trying to make the spread so that it levels the action and the house takes the vig which I assume is 10 per cent or at least it used to be.
That said, they brought up an interesting point about Detroit losing last week.
They both thought that a Detroit loss was a big win for the books because of all the money bet in parlays and all the money bet on Detroit making the super bowl.
As far as perception goes, don’t underestimate it, when you got Skip Bayless who is a certified idiot, but has an audience floating conspiracy theories then it’s out there.
From your post it sounds like you think morons is a tiny minority.

Everybody “promotes” one of the gambling apps because apps throw money all over the place. Paid promotion, just like Tide.
Sure when favorites lose the books make more money. But they aren’t going to lose money when the underdog wins. There’s always plenty of money going on both sides. It’s also why there are so many ways to bet. Over under, stats bets, prop bets, play bets, parlays. On the off chance they lose money on one aspect of the game they make up it up on the others. And all those odds and spreads don’t try to level out the action, they do it. This is a science at this point.
There’s always idiots floating conspiracy theories. Nothing new about any of that. We had somebody on FR a long time ago that would come into the Superbowl thread every about 5 hours before the game and loudly declare “the fix is in and I’m pissed”. Mind you they never actually bothered to say what the fix WAS. Who was going to win or any of that. I mean really with 5 hours “warning” if it actually was in and you actually knew why be angry, that’s a profit opportunity, sure sports gambling wasn’t nationally legal yet, but come on, not that hard to place some bets even back then.
There are a lot of morons in the world. But they don’t matter. One of the hilarious parts about these people that always insist things are rigged is they still watch. And when it comes to rating and advertising dollars there ain’t any difference between conspiracy addicted idiots hate watching and fans enjoying the game. Skip Bayless gets that, everybody who watches him watches just to make fun of what an idiot he is, but he still gets paid.
Nothing more deflating that seeing a spectacular catch in the E/Z for a touchdown, and then being nullified by a close penalty.
