This would not surprise me if the California Democrats are going to use the fire to rebuild the city to meet the 15 minute city requirements.

I also don’t think it’s coincidence that so many cities have been burned to the ground that just happen to be in paradisical locations.

Federal assistance is rushing in from FEMA and from the US military at the direction of President Biden in stark contrast to the lack of any US assistance to the devastated Western North Carolina/Eastern Tennessee survivors, where road, bridge, rail and other infrastructures have been wiped from the face of the earth by the combination of Hurricane Helene wind and water damage, flooding, mud slides and fires. As the arctic freeze moves across the nation and due to land on the Southern Appalachians on January 10th, there are citizens who lost everything living in tents and other structures creating life threatening hypothermia risk as the winter freeze arrives. One the ground volunteers are reporting FEMA has confirmed “3500 households in #WNC will lose their transitional sheltering Assistance,” just days before the worst winter storms role in.

With the current bureaucracy, HYVM.

it is breathtaking the lengths they will go to.

no water in the resevoirs, hydrants not working and suspended upkeep, insurance cancelations, just pieces of a puzzle to destroy lives. the cost at 500 billion but the fund only has 700 million. a little law changed here or there that if you don’t rebuild in 2 years your property is considered abandoned(yet permitting takes nearly 5 years).

is this all just really bad management?

In addition, I have family and friends living in the St Petersburg Fl area.

Their efforts to rebuild have also been crippled by FEMA and related bureaucratic red tape.

Considering what we’ve witnessed the last 4 years, anything is feasible.

In wildfire country, there is no such thing as *surplus* firefighting equipment.

And you NEVER short yourself water.

Those decisions were made knowing full well what the consequences would be should this very scenario happen.

Also, as far as the body count, considering the number of homeless and illegals, I’m suspecting it may actually be far higher.

May God use this tragedy to bring about godly repentance and turning to him.
