It’s not that far fetched... small magnetic objects have been suspended in space, using the power or repulsion of opposite magnetic fields, albeit as a novelty and weigh mere grams.
However, if the infinite intelligence of the human mind can conceive such a breakthrough, at scale, key words - AT SCALE, then all bets are off.
