Carter's legacy, besides "malaise" and the "misery index," and besides giving away the strategic Panama Canal, will be the rise of Islamic Jihad and Ayatollah Khomeini.

Carter allowed it to happen, and his spiritual counterpart Joe Biden rearmed them after they were defeated.

I lived through those years as a young man starting a career.

I believe that he had good intentions and wasn’t fundamentally evil. Unlike some Democrats that followed him into that office.

He was naive and ill equipped for the job and ill advised.
