Mangione referred to Ted Kaczynski’s actions as those of a “political revolutionary” rather than a lunatic, chillingly suggesting that violence might sometimes be necessary to “survive.”
A former high school classmate of the person of interest identified and detained Monday in the apparent assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson spoke to The Gateway Pundit on Monday, expressing incredulity over the incident.
Authorities identified Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old former Ivy League student at UPenn, as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, The Gateway Pundit reported Monday.
As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, new details about the arrestee and his family have come to light.
Mangioni’s family owns multiple businesses in Baltimore City or Baltimore County, including Hayfields Country Club in Cockeysville and a radio station.
He is also a cousin of Republican State Delegate Nino Mangione, who has been in office since 2019.
One source in Baltimore County who is indirectly familiar with the possible shooter described him as “super smart” and said the family is “very well off.” Some locals have rumored that Luigi Mangione had a bad injury and was a disgruntled client of United Healthcare or that he had a close family member who was wronged by the healthcare system. “But who knows,” said the local.
Mangioni was also valedictorian of his high school class at Gilman School in 2016. Gilman School, an all-boys private country day school on the outskirts of Baltimore, addressed the incident in a letter to the community.
Freddie Leatherbury, a former classmate of Mangioni at Gilman, told The Gateway Pundit that his reaction to Mangioni's arrest was "disbelief."
"He was such a good kid; he was well-studied and well-read, smart, athletic, socially well-adjusted, and had a lot of good friends," Leatherburry added. "Nothing I knew about him previously really correlated to what I heard about him. I was so surprised."
Leatherbury noted that the two hadn't seen each other in about eight years, adding, "We were friendly but just weren't in the same circle of friends, so after high school graduation, I never saw him." Still, he follows Mangioni's Instagram page and looked at it earlier on Monday "out of curiosity" and found that he hadn't posted anything since 2021.
It is still unclear what drove Mangioni to allegedly commit murder.
However, as The Gateway Pundit reported, police found a manifesto where he ranted against the healthcare industry on Mangione after he was found at a McDonald’s.
Law enforcement found at least four fake IDs on Mangione, a gun with a silencer, and a two-and-a-half-page handwritten manifesto.
“These parasites had it coming,” and “I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done,” the manifesto read, according to a police official who has seen the document CNN reports.
Mangione was discovered to be an anti-capitalist who ranted about the healthcare industry’s massive profits and believes in climate change.
Perhaps he was indoctrinated and radicalized by his college professors at the University of Pennsylvania.
Not one of them recognized him all over the news? No one called in a top?
Lone Wolf!..........Lone Wolf!..........Lone Wolf!..........Lone Wolf!..........Lone Wolf!..........Lone Wolf!..........
I think they mean “allegedly” commit murder.
Damn, does Gateway Pundit have no QC process? They refer to him as Mangioni several times in the article, and then the correct spelling Mangione at other times. Italian is not that difficult...mannaggia!
His former classmate butt buddy might think Luigi is a swell guy but he’s still a murderer. He’ll always be a murderer. He murdered a guy with a wife and kids. Luigi can KMA on Main St. and I’ll give him 15 minutes to draw a crowd.
We know more about Mangione than about Crooks or Routh.
That tells me he wasn’t a CIA or FBI asset.................
chillingly suggesting that violence might sometimes be necessary to “survive.”

Actually the truth of that suggestion is confirmed by military and law enforcement personnel every single day, and also by citizens who must resort to violence to safe their own life or someone else’s!
Perhaps he was indoctrinated and radicalized by his college professors at the University of Pennsylvania.
Two Penn professors are included in the Watchlist: Anthea Butler and Regina Austin.
Butler, who is an associate professor of religious studies and graduate chair in the Department of Religious Studies, is listed as having said that “God is a white racist” and as having “called GOP presidential candidate and highly successful African-American neurosurgeon, Ben Carson, a racial slur for supporting people’s rights to own and fly the Confederate flag.”
In a statement provided to The Daily Pennsylvanian, Butler wrote, “I am aware of the Professor Watchlist, and as an American citizen, I am reminded of my First Amendment right to free speech under the Constitution. I also know and appreciate the University of Pennsylvania’s commitment to academic freedom. As a religious historian, I am all too aware of what Professor Watchlist is designed to do. In light of this list, I will continue to enjoy teaching my students the kind of history that exposes the lack of critical thinking this list is designed to promote by attempting to silence academics who disagree with certain social and political viewpoints.”
Austin, who is a professor at Penn Law School, is accused of being “a chief indoctrinator” and promoting “ideas of social justice” within the classroom, according to the website. She did not respond to The DP’s request for comment.

I’d bet more money than I have on that.
If he really cares about health care then he should have not been murdering. And if he went to Altoona then he should have instead stopped in Lancaster and joined the Amish and checked out of the messed up USA health care system instead of going to McDonalds for his health food.
Yes the US health care system is full of fraud and waste. But his approach to fixing it is wrong.
He was an Undocumented migrant into NYC and must have felt comfortable being in such a Sanctuary. However, we have documentation laws on migrants for a reason & this includes documentation on 3d printer generated guns that migrate into NYC from other States is problematic.
People are saying that they are shocked and surprised that this intelligent , well educated young man from a wealthy family could do such a dastardly act. Actually such young men who have abandoned classic values and have embraced neo pagan secular humanism have been very active over the last 150 years and have undermined Western cultures. Russian authors such as Tolstoy and Dostoevsky were remarlably perceptive and prescient. They described such people in great detail in their writings and predicted the great tragedies to come in Russia as many in the intelligentsia and the upper classes abandoned traditional religous and deist belief. Dostoevsky predicted atrocities including murder would be committed by such people who believed “all is lawful” when promoting their concept of social justice. Tragically he was right and such people will always be among us.
It sure didn’t happen in SUNDAY SCHOOL..............
“BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY”........................
BTTT
‘Justice’ requires no modifiers like ‘social’, ‘racial’, or ‘economic’ or whatever the ‘cause du jour’ is on any given day.
There is only ‘justice’.................

It would surprise me to learn that he was NOT indoctrinated and radicalized by anti-Capitalist, tenured professors. These enemies of America have infiltrated every education institution in the country!
LOL 😹
