More than 96% of all new jobs in California in the last two years have been government work (for real) 😨

If you thought DC was a totalitarian swamp land, wait till you find out about Sacramento!

California, the golden state, the former land of opportunity, is hiring. But only the state itself appears to be hiring. No one's doing business there.

UNREAL.

Here's more to put that in perspective from the Hoover Institute:

Between January 2022 and June 2024, employment in US private businesses increased by about 7.32 million jobs. Of these 7.32 million jobs, about 5,400 were jobs created in California businesses — representing about .07 percent of the US figure.

California's total population is about 11-12% of the United States. But they accounted for 0.7% of business growth.

5,400 jobs with a population of 39 million. 🤯

Businesses like Elon Musk's companies are fleeing California due to insane taxes, political lawfare, and over-the-top regulation.

California's job creation record has been even more dismal over the last 18 months. Since January 2023, private-sector employment in the state declined by over 46,000 workers. California's private-sector job collapse is unprecedented, and with the state representing nearly 12 percent of the country's population, it is a drag on the nation's economy.

Part of California's job weakness reflects the number of people and businesses leaving the state. California's population declined by about 75,000 between 2022 and 2023 (the latest data available), and a number of business headquarters have departed.

You may as well be on welfare in California. New workers are just living off tax dollars anyways.

Who can blame all the people fleeing this failed state?

Economic factors are the primary reasons behind these departures. Households are moving because of the cost of living and deficient public services. The median single-family home price is over $900,000, and the median price of a condominium or townhouse is nearly $700,000. Electricity prices are the fifth highest in the country. Gasoline prices are the second highest in the country, reflecting in part the nation's highest gasoline taxes. With the country's highest gas taxes, California roads should be among the best, but they are among the worst. California public schools are grossly underperforming, with only 25 - 30 percent of students proficient in math, language arts, or science.

Democrats have taken the most beautiful, resource-filled, and richest state and turned it into a poorly run welfare state.

Blue state's gonna blue state!

And I’ll bet 99.999% were DEI hires!

Yep. The plan is to end up with 50% of the population working for the government and the other 50% slaving to pay for that government.

When they get close to this ratio all free stuff will be cut off if they do not submit to the slavery. It is going to be a bait and switch to all those who are running there for more free stuff and sanctuary.

CaCaLand has long been a commie trashdump, run to benefit the politicos — of course. The GOP was completely feckless for years. Which is why I left them. Then, the DNC became a super majority, SO EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS TOTALLY DELIBERATE BY THE DNC.

The bottom line always tells the truth.

California liberals have had a nose ring the democrat party placed to follow the party anywhere for any reason it hasn’t failed yet.

Can someone or some other institution double check these Hoover numbers? They sound really unbelievable. We have to put aside confirmation bias at times like this.

The really sad thing is that (as I understand it) with the exception of LA and SF, the majority of California is reasonably conservative.

Still, Diane Fineswine is gone, Pelosi has one foot in the grave and the old guard like newsome are losing support.

And we saw the influence today’s “celebreties” have!

There is hope.

This is among many many reasons you don’t want Gavin Newsom for POTUS - or Kamala Harris for that matter.

They’d both take their California policies - easy on criminals, out of control homelessness, open borders, driving businesses and productive citizens out of the state, boosting taxes to higher levels along with a war on oil companies (which are also fleeing the state of California), giving illegals free medical care along with everything else.

People have NO IDEA how much of a bullet we dodged electing Trump over Harris. Gavin Newsom would have been given a high level cabinet position, Homeland Security or Secretary of State - and run for POTUS in 2028.

California has a bright long term future—after a couple of catastrophic earthquakes change the coastal landscape.

Lol.

It was a glorious state to grow up in and get my first business going after college. The writing was on the wall when the last of the Republicans lost. (Arnold didn’t count). I still have family and visiting my old stomping grounds but geesh. I don’t like going anymore.

California is not that bad because you can leave California to move to a red state.

Imagine Gavin Newsom is our President. America is California. That's when things will get bad.

Newsome is definitely on a roll in this State. For the average folks it really sucks, so don’t be average...

Not sustainable.
People are unable to change it because of ballot and election rigging.

Trump will inevitably have to deal with ‘failed’ California as POTUS.

“The plan is to end up with 50% of the population working for the government and the other 50% slaving to pay for that government.”

***********

Just another wasteful and unsustainable liberal plan.

Notice how all their plans always benefit the liberals themselves.

The people here knew exactly what was at stake. It is sickening that Kumrade got 47% of ballots. Scary.

Hope? No. Not for a long time.

CA is going to have to fall a lot further before there is any sort of genuine, widespread epiphany. Total collapse may be required.

I have a supplier there who told me he gets frequent contacts from other states suggesting he move the business out of CA.

I have a number of suppliers based in CA. I doubt his experience is unusual.
