The film released today by the Roddenberry Archive and their technology partner OTOY (in cooperation with Paramount) is titled Unification. It launched on The Archive web portal (at roddenberry.x.io) and via the Apple Vision Pro app. This is the fourth from the Archive’s “765874” series of films tied into Star Trek using a combination of live-action footage and computer generated imagery. William Shatner and other Star Trek vets were involved in the making of this new film. Check out what they describe as a “mind-bending Star Trek experience celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Trek Generations.”

Some of the walking bits look weird but other parts look perfect.
You got me curious.
So I looked it up.
Beyond his 3 marriages where he also cheated on his spouses and then married the next one, he admits to having 8 affairs with women. I specify women, because there are rumors that he’s been with men too.
“memoirs, Wagner said he had had affairs with Yvonne De Carlo, Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Anita Ekberg, Shirley Anne Field, Lori Nelson, and Joan Collins. He also claimed a four-year romantic relationship with Barbara Stanwyck after they acted together in the movie Titanic (1953)” (wikipedia)
He’s a manwhore. Hahaha
I know Shatner came out as a liberal, I think Nimoy did too, but this little clip made me cry. It was, finally, the send off both characters (and TRUE Star Trek fans) deserved.
Ah. Never read many of the Trek novels. John M. Ford’s _The Final Reflection_ and the novelization for _The Motion Picture_ were the only two I thought worth the time.
I’m glad you filled in that blank for me. And it is what it is. I’m just not much of a fan of stuff like that in popular fiction. Part of what hobbles Star Wars (IMHO) is that it quickly turned into a family drama with pew-pew. And that goes all the way back to Empire’ and ‘Jedi.
It was quite heart wrenching. Not a single word spoken by anyone.
Shouldn’t you protect your spouse whether or not they have problems including alcoholism?
Personal observation
There are two types of liberals.
1. The true do gooders that just have this unrealistic view of the nature of mankind and forces of economics. They think man is inherently good and that with more government and rules we can “fix” all the world’s ills.
2. The F’d up leftist lunatic. These people KNOW their ideas are immoral, they know man is inherently evil (full of sin), but there is some perceived personal benefit behind why they stand where they do.
What is the story, please. Never heard of it.
How do you see it? Everything on youtube I click on is people talking about it.

Get tissue, first...
Thanks for posting these. Made me cry. Especially Rocky Mountain High. So poignant.
Thank you for posting. I could never get enough Star Trek. It was so uplifting and intriguing. The imagination could run wild. I miss those days, and I have many fond memories. I still have my uniform! Gene Roddenberry was a genius.
You’re welcome!
Here’s a decent discussion, including information on Sorak.

Honestly, it’s a rather boring and plodding short movie. Yeah, I watched it, hungry for Star Trek. But it’s really just another hollywood scifi glowing view of the afterlife, using the Star Trek world as its vehicle. And although Spock dies waaaay later than Kirk, Kirk can go to the afterlife after he’s histoire and bam, there’s Spock still alive, but old, presumably dying (? too)? And why focus on Saavik? Why not Carol Marcus, or Kirk’s own son? Or the hot Romulan Female Captain he tricked into letting him get the cloaking device? Etc. Nah, coulda shudda wudda been better, with a little more effort.
Another source to watch it, if the others don’t work well for you.
LOL, oh wait, that’s the one in the OP’s entry here! My bad.
My liberal friends tend to be starry-eyed believers that it’s the responsibility of those better off to care for those less well off. They more want equality of results to protect the unfortunate. Even though they’ve often succeeded themselves because of their own innate skills, I think they feel guilty that they’ve done well and that others aren’t as well off. They’re perfectly comfortable letting everyone else’s taxes pay to salve their guilt.
They aren’t practical enough to look at a future developed through no meritocracy and don’t recognize the practical rising up of all of society when you have the political system Trump believes in.
So maybe they fit into your number 1.
