YES on floor pilates, yoga too! You're own body weight is one hell of an adversary.

Planks, squats, pushups ... and then MOVE. Stationary bike or long brisk walks. You don't need to go crazy. Just do a few things a day, every day. Don't stop moving or using your muscles.

I've seen plenty of oldsters who did nothing to keep muscle atrophy at bay and it's not pretty - falling down, broken bones, bedridden, then being feeble and dying - not to mention being fat.

I eat whatever the hell I want ... but only a couple bites. And that's satisfying enough.

Come on, Freepers. Stay strong and fit. We need you around to fight the good fight!

Heck, I think raking leaves with a rake is a decent workout too. At least, the older I get, the more it takes out of me. I agree on the chopping and stacking wood part, too. It’s very satisfying.

Great upper body workout.

How about water aerobics - any drawbacks? I’ve been going three times a week for 15 years. Just turned 80 in September and feeling blessed to be feeling great. All this after heart attack with two episodes of Vfib at age 47 (1992).
