Ha ha! I was just watching that, and thinking “I wonder if the FReepers would like this?”
If I could I would cue up Charles from Brooklyn 99 saying “nobody cares”
I think it’s the episode with Damon Wayons guest
I not only don’t want to hear their opinions anymore, I don’t want to see their movies - there’s not much that’s new or creative anymore. The whole Hollywood culture has dumbed itself down utterly.
Actors will be replaced with AI.
The voice acting will be a significant change. Computer generated voices are getting better and better. In addition to foreign languages, producers will be able to insert regional dialects. A lot of regular actors who do voice work are going to be replaced.
If the plots were written without a progressive bias, I’d be willing to watch movies starring actors who hate what I love. I can separate actors from characters. But there’s whole reams of movie plots I refuse to watch, and anything from progressive writers is right up there on top of the list.
I’ll stick with the 50’s morality type of plots in Chinese dramas, thank you. (Though they ARE starting to edge into the early 60’s.)
That was GOOD.
Not that Tinseltown doesn’t deserve to suffer.

that was an impressive litany
Celebrities are still basically people who lie for a living.
Love the Critical Drinker. Thanks for posting.
Here's a bit of the transcript (which I cleaned up, capitalized, paragraphed, and punctuated)...
Now it might have come to your attention that there was an election in America this week. No way! I know, right? If only someone had told us. Now I'm not here to talk about the election itself because, believe it or not, I'm generally smart enough not to stick my nose into things that are none of my damn business. But do you know who isn't? That's right. Whenever there's a major political or social event going on you can always count on the Professional Pretenders to find a way to make it all about them because, truly, who better to guide the Common Working Man on which candidate best represents their interest than a group of elite multi-millionaires living in a goldplated echo chamber whose entire careers consist of saying words written by someone else.
The list of actors and celebrities that are apparently going to leave America because the election didn't go the way they wanted is longer than my criminal record for public intoxication. But what kind of threat is that even supposed to be? Why do you think anyone even cares where you live? Do you really think there's people out there that are deeply invested in keeping you in the same zip codes? Like if you threatened to never appear in any movies or show your face in public ever again I guess that might be something a bit more meaningful, but then that would actually mean putting your career on the line.
No more big pay checks, no more private jets, no more Awards ceremonies where you sniff each other's farts and talk about how good it smells. We all know you'd never do that because, if you don't have fame and attention anymore, what do you really have left to keep you going? Now that it actually is all over, I wonder how many of those people are actually going to go through with it anyway. Probably about the same number who left the country eight years ago when the same exact thing happened.
Somebody posted a clip yesterday from “Key Largo” with Edward G. Robinson delivering his speech about politics and elections. It was wonderful. They don’t make movies like that anymore and there are no actors like Robinson these days.
lets see p diddys list
Loved it!!
Spot on!!!
I think it’s education.
In the past, people were educated in literature, history, religion, etc., in ways they simply are not these days. And literature, history, religion are how the great themes of human experience are passed down to us.
Without those great themes, myths, etc., everything becomes temporal, trite and boring.
Exactly. Should we take anything they say seriously?! Nope.
