PA County Switches To Paper Ballots After Machines Fail on Election Day.
The National Pulse ^ | 11/05/2024 | William Upton

Pennsylvania’s Cambria County has been forced to make an election day switch to paper ballots following widespread issues with voting machines in the heavily Republican locality.

The technology issue predominately impacts ballot scanners, meaning the printed electronic votes must be hand-counted for tabulation.

“The Cambria County Board of Election learned early this morning that a software malfunction in the County’s Electronic Voting System has prevented voters from scanning their ballots. This should not discourage voters from voting at their voting precincts,” Cambria County solicitor Ron Repak said in a statement early Tuesday morning. He added: “The Board has filed a Court Order extending the time to vote within Cambria County. No one should be turned away from the polls if they wish to cast their vote. Cambria County Board of Elections took measures to have IT specialists called to review the software issue. There is a process in place for issues of this nature.”

The Cambria County official claims that “[a]ll completed ballots will be accepted, secured, and counted by the Board of Elections.”

“The County Board of Elections has express voting machine at precinct locations to continue to allow voting electronically, while still allowing hand ballots to be cast,” Repak said, adding that all votes will be counted.

Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Department of State issued a statement saying it is aware of the situation in Cambria County and is working with local officials on a solution. “Voters are continuing to vote by paper ballot, in accordance with normal operations, while the county resolves the issue with in-precinct scanning,” it said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding: “We are working with the County to resolve this technical matter and remain committed to ensuring a free, fair, safe, and secure election.”

Yes. We are told that the GOP has an army of watchers and lawyers in place all over the country. That’s good. But I will be disappointed if everything just evaporates if Trump wins. “That’s good news. I guess we don’t need to pursue fraud now. No one needs to go to prison. We can ignore all the funny stuff that’s been reported. Trump won, and that’s all that matters.”

That would be bad. I want a reckoning.

Hopefully the local Sheriff and Sheriff’s deputies will step in if any officious p****s try to force those teams out of the places in which those impromptu ballots are to be collected, stored and/or counted.

Reread article.

This is a Trump area. The pollworkers are local and thus Trump types.

They aren’t looking for a way to reduce his count.

I am all for getting rid of voting machines in the first, second and third place. Too easy to program the computer to switch votes.

Voting should be one day, ID necessary - and paper ballots only.

England did this when they voted for Brexit.

“Third world countries in Africa are laughing at us.”

Kind of like the attempted assassination of Trump in Pennsylvania. Their thinking is that if you do your evil deeds in the full light of day in front of the whole world, then people will think that it is all an accident.

I just voted in Pennsylvania. You fill out a paper ballot then scan it into a machine.
The paper ballot would be easy to count. We don’t need no stinking machines.

Are they using Dominion voting equipment?

LOL...

Maybe the Political Morons who run Fox News can get a small refund on the $790 million in legal damages they paid Dominion in 2023?

Unless all the counters are registered Democrats...

That’s what we do in Connecticut. You fill out a paper ballot and insert it into a machine that scans it to tabulate results. Personally, I think the machine should print a date/timestamp on it what it is inserted and should have a large display in the front, displaying the date and time with a big sticker, saying if this clock on this machine does not match the actual clock report immediately

What nonsense. The software doesn’t malfunction unless someone tampered with the code.

And how come Dominion and Smartmatic weren't forced to have their software/hardware inspected and scrutinized in 2020 after the many failures? Why wasn't this pre-inspected like within the last 6 months to ensure there were no irregularities or altered coding within?

No, we NEED a reckoning!!!! I remember when DeSantis beat the fraudster Andrew Gillum in Florida in 2018. After DeSantis won, I thought he would file charges against the fraud but nothing happened and Gillum got away from it.

In 2016 when Trump won, we wanted Hillary to pay for her crimes but she was let off the hook.

If Trump wins he needs to go after everyone that cheated in the 2024 election and going back to previous elections. He does need to go scorched earth on the Depp State and past criminals like Biden, Harris, Obama, Clinton etc.

I won't be happy if Trump wins, but nothing is done to the corrupt evil people that tried to take him down/out.

Great idea. In the year of our Lord 2024, why isn't this a standard? Unless they don't WANT it to be...

The Federalist is reporting: "[In addition to several Philadelphia polling places] Republican poll observers were also turned away from York, Westmoreland, Allegheny, Lehigh, Cambria, Wyoming, and Lackawanna counties."

The election officials committing this crime should be tried, convicted, and their sentence should be a public and televised flogging.
