The 'big shots' are high-ranking elected officials that include former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, current Majority Leader of the Senate Charles Schumer, and many others who have received millions of Democrat votes to attain their lofty positions. Clearly, voters had virtual representation in the process that selected the Vice-President to be the Party's presidential nominee.
