A Secret Service whistleblower revealed that would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh had inside information on the security vulnerabilities at Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.
Routh was able to set up a sniper’s nest with a perfect range just roughly 300 yards from Trump.
Senator Josh Hawley wrote in a letter:
“A whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service protection of former President Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach — an individual who has in fact protected President Trump at that very location — alleges that there are ‘known vulnerabilities’ in the fence line surrounding the course: places that offer a clear line of sight to the former president and others playing at the course.”
“As a result, the whistleblower alleges it has been Secret Service protocol to ‘post up’ agents at these vulnerable spots when Trump visits the course. That apparently did not happen on September 15,” the letter continued.
“Instead, the gunman was permitted to remain along or near the fence line for some 12 hours.”
This would mean Routh was outside the course for 12 hours despite Trump’s round of golf not being on the public schedule.
The whistleblower‘s allegations would also support the theory that a mole within the Secret Service is feeding information about locations and security vulnerabilities.
As we reported on Wednesday, Republican Congressman Eli Crane has warned Trump there is the possibility that someone is leaking intelligence from within the Secret Service to put his life at risk.
“My advice to the President is to bolster your private security around you not only to fill holes in the gaps that the Secret Service continues to leave open but also to watch the watchers,” Crane suggested.
Meanwhile, Hawley noted that it remains unclear whether the Secret Service swept the perimeter of the course or whether drones were utilized to monitor the fence line.
“The reality is that the would-be assassin should never have been able to linger around the course for that long undetected,” Hawley wrote.
Hawley’s letter concludes with several questions on the whistleblower’s allegations.
“I want to emphasize, the service has guarded this course many times. They know where there are vulnerabilities,” Hawley told Fox News.
“They normally station agents there ahead of Trump’s appearance on the course, but they apparently did not do that this last weekend. And the whistleblowers tell me, that’s strange, that’s out of protocol,” the senator said.
He also highlighted that the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and Secret Service still have not provided lawmakers with relevant documents concerning Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
“Do you know that the Secret Service still has not given congressional investigators the documents and evidence we have been asking for for two months?” Hawley said.
“Two months since Trump was shot in the face, now he has been shot at, or nearly so, again, and still Secret Service is stonewalling right down to this hour. I mean, what is going on here?”
“They need to level with us, they need to level with the American people, and they need to tell us what in the world is happening,” Hawley added.
While Federal prosecutors are charging Routh with a federal firearms offense, they balked at charging him with attempted murder because he did not ultimately fire his weapon.
As we reported on Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to conduct a state investigation instead of a federal one to avoid “a cover-up.”
“Today, I’m signing an executive order assigning the case involving the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump to the office of statewide prosecutor, under the supervision of Attorney General Ashley Moody,” DeSantis said.
There’s more than one person who’s leaking this. Count on it.
No, I'm not shocked at all.
Trump needs to take up some of the offers for security he has gotten. The private detail is better vetted and tougher than breast feeding baby mommas and androgynous Pat's.
Are they threatening Trump so he either throws the “election” or else?
This shooter has DC Agency written all over him.
I've seen a couple of different articles on this. One suggestion is that Routh can't be charged with an assassination attempt because Trump is not a current federal official. The statute doesn't apply to former presidents either. That is why DeSantis jumped in to investigate attempted murder charges and other possible crimes committed by the suspect within Florida..
there are more than one mole in president trumps circle.
look at the number of turncoats after they left the circle, that we know of, versus the number of people still deep in the circle.
Trump Hater Jeffrey Veltri?
Put them all on administrative leave pending investigation. Hire a Mossad team for personal security.
Might I suggest using a law enforcement technique?
Identify a person(s) of interest, haul them in for questioning, hold them for as long as legally possible, in deplorable conditions, offer them immunity for ratting out their superiors.
Do it publicly, call CNN and haul them in @ 0430. Each suspect should be publicly humiliated.
Why is this all kept so secret? Expose them right now!
I’m betting is Agent Pat. /s
Yep. How can some one making only 3k per month fly all over the world.
“Gentlemen, you’re exactly what we expect from years of Government training! Now on to the eye test.”
I read that where Routh was located is a well known spot that photographers used to take pictures of Trump when he was golfing.
Photographers have said that the SS have stopped by and asked for credentials.
Every time ? Always ? Sometimes ? Maybe ?
Trump needs to up the security on his own if need be.
Drones and dogs , between drones doing aerial views and a K-9 team walking the perimeter, either would have picked up Routh .
Cheap ,easy , immediately effective, what the hell is wrong here ?
Cheap and easy as Trump can afford it, easy as experts in these fields are readily available, and effective because they work.
Sad Sack Secret Service can’t fly drones, don’t have comms, fear the sloped roofs, had tummy aches that day , Pat the cafeteria lady on loan from GSA , they can not mange this.
They probably have millions budgeted for it though .
Trump has to do this on his own .
CIA stash cash.
2 high powered bullets failed. One big IED will not.
USSS doesn’t follow time honored procedure of establishing a secure perimeter. No sentry, no CCTV, no patrols. They rely on an occasional (apparently) sweep of an area without maintaining a presence prior to and after the President’s passing and close in protection. Obviously, procedures need to be revamped and personnel added. Also, a quick examination reveals that few of the USSS supervisors have field experience. No experience, no opportunities for vertical advancement equals a bad work environment.
Entitled, protocol driven, not bright. Definitely not the ones I would want guarding me if I were to have ten or so attempts on my life per year.
