“The View” co-host Sara Haines said on Monday that Republican nominee Donald Trump is showing he “cares” about young voters by appearing on several podcasts that are popular with the demographic.
Haines said Trump’s “podcast tour” is reaching massive audiences of young voters who do not watch traditional media, which she argued will have a positive effect for the former president. Vice President Kamala Harris, who has come under fire for her lack of media appearances, sat down with CNN host Dana Bash on Aug. 29 for her first and only sit-down interview one month after launching her presidential campaign.
“Donald Trump is doing something that was just brought to my attention this weekend,” Haines said. “He’s on a podcast tour, like with some pretty crazy people, but the reach of these podcasts is massive. They’re getting millions of hits … he is hitting them all and they’re talking about what you’d expect from him, nothing. But the important point is here is that those people who are watching are mostly geared toward young people, so they’re not watching CNN, Fox, The View. They’re on podcasts.”

Trump is reaching millions of young voters this way and the usual "expert" political consultants are clueless (just as much so as those on the View). The same experts who have advised losing candidates for three decades have been complaining that Trump is not campaigning using the usual methods.
Just because he is not running campaign commercials during episodes of whatever is the current "hit" show on cable TV, doesn't mean he is not reaching the voters he needs to convince. Young voters are the ones that need to be convinced to vote this November.
We long-timed voters know who we are voting for and a glossy flyer or 30 spot ad during "prime-time" is not going to change minds. But, a 25-45 year old voter who is just now starting to pay attention to politics can be reached through these podcast interviews and ads on social media.
The top two issues this November is the economy and the border. Young voters need to be reminded who is currently in office and responsible for the open border and inflation. Trump can reach voters who aren't even aware who Kamala Harris is, nor that she is the Vice-President. They can be reached and convinced to vote on podcasts such as the one he did with Theo Von.
Kamala Harris can easily counter-attack by going on all of these podcasts herself and, during the interviews, present her case to the public and persuade everyone why she is likable and intelligent and able to fix everything. [/s]
I haven’t watched a TV show in about 8 years. And I’m 76. So not just young people. I do occasionally watch a show or a movie on Amazon Prime or Youtube. But we get our news from X, Free Republic, Facebook (not so much actually), some on YouTube. But we don’t sit down in the evening and have to decide whether to watch CNN or FOX. Thank goodness we have other places to go for news.
Networks and cable have historically had the benefit of wider coverage, with their biggest weapon not covering things to help frame a narrative.
There is a reason the Lula regime in Brazil is targetting X and Rumble--both platforms pose a threat.
Brezenski. Isn’t that Russian????
I remember in 1992 when Bill Clinton went on MTV (or whatever it was), to play saxophone and talk publicly about what kind of underwear he wears.
The pundit-class told us that was the new and novel political strategy of the day to reach Gen-X voters.
Sadly, it seemed to work, and the mass of American Gen-X has not progressed beyond that stunted adolescent level of discourse (and I am one, so don’t question me...)
Hopefully future generations and their podcasts are better.
Polish, iirc. I think her father was Zigbineu Bryzinski
Did she actually say that??
Poles will probably not appreciate you saying that. But she acts more Russian.
Think so ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v7xN02whVY
But I do listen and watch podcasts and caught Trump on the Lex Friedman Podcast. Friedman is certainly no bastion of conservative thinking.

You might want to watch. You will be impressed.
Trump looked great, not being filtered by the media.
Great strategy.
“Haines said. “He’s on a podcast tour, like with some pretty crazy people”
One reason many young people are learning to hate Democrats is because Democrats keep calling them “crazy”.
Kamala said young voters are stupid. There’s video of her saying it.
I watched that. I was impressed at the level of discussion and how natural Trump was in the conversation. He has an ability that your usual politician does not have in that he can speak with anyone without being condescending and arrogant.
Speaking of interviews, I watched one yesterday that was really good.
“The left has FAILED and DECEIVED black community | Sitdown with Quenton Jordan”
Michael Franzese interviews Quenton Jordan, VP of the “Black Conservatives Federation”. The is the organization that has the Black Conservatives for Trump bus and goes into black communities to educate black voters on the failures of the Democrat party. It is an excellent interview.
Yes, that’s her father. But I had read years ago that he was Russian or maybe he was just a Communist
“CNN Anchor Breaks Down ‘Welcome News’ For Trump ‘Among Black And Hispanic Voters’”
“Polls have indicated that Trump has increased his support among black voters ahead of the 2024 election. Before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, a New York Times/Siena poll from June 27 found Trump garnering support from 26% of black voters after earning 5% of support from that demographic in the 2020 election.”
Ipsos.”
That is not decisive, but it will hurt the Democrats. They will need work that much more at their margin-of-cheat.
Trump is not running against Harris. Trump is running against the Democrat vote fraud machine.
Bo Loudon, Barron’s best friend, is doing a bang up job on social media reaching the young kids. I follow him on Instagram and the kid is everywhere. He’s also Gina Loudon’s son. Here’s some info: https://www.hola.com/us/celebrities/20240815712873/barron-trump-best-friend-bo-loudon/
And Trump’s ads on Kamala’s record as California prosecutor (releasing violent criminals) is playing on all those podcasts.
