If Turkey Invades Israel, It Will be With American Weapons
National Security Journal ^ | 7/30/2024 | Michael Rubin

The true scandal, however, is that if Turkey were to act against Israel, it likely would do so with American weaponry. Certainly, Turkey has its own domestic military industry, largely built on cribbed and stolen American technology, but Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan pushed through Congress a significant upgrade of Turkey’s airpower, essentially rewarding Erdogan’s NATO extortion. Sullivan thought the deal sophisticated and Kissinger-esque, but in actuality, it reflected his ignorance of Erdogan’s true motivations and his failure to understand that Kissinger’s legacy was a net-negative in the Eastern Mediterranean. Certainly, Israel’s F-35s trump Turkey’s F-16s, but the avionics upgrades Biden blessed still mean Turkey has significant lethality. Rewarding Erdogan’s antics rather than tying military relations to an end to Turkey’s northern Cyprus occupation also gives Turkey a forward pad from which to launch its drones or missiles. Indeed, Turkey has already bragged that Geçitkale, as it renamed the occupied Lefkoniko Air Base, will be a drone base from which it can strike all of Israel.

I think the media missed this one. Would Turkey, a NATO nation, invade Turkey?

Between Turkey and Israel is the failed state of Syria. Turkey could enter Syria as a “peacekeeper”, then keep on rolling into Israel.

As it has been noted elsewhere, Turkey’s military is no joke. But what would Turkey gain by attacking Israel? If they lose, they lose. And if they win, Israel would probably go out with a bang (the nuclear option on Ankara).

Turkey might supply anti-aircraft weapons and personnel to Lebanon.

Erdogan will not send aircraft against Israel or meddle in Gaza.

Turkey has recently been talking about leaving NATO, it will set off a chain reaction and further erode NATO’s offensive capabilities. Good. NATO has departed from being a Defensive organization, now a Neo-con Offensive organization encroaching worldwide.

Do realize they should have never been admitted to NATO, their Islamic roots was playing with the Devil. History shows ( the Islamic Ottoman Empire) their allegiance is to Islam, not the West.

We are witnessing the decline of the West, thanks Joe.

Your “ opinion” is noted. As usual, I check often what Scripture states, it is inerrant. They will at some point be marching on Israel, and at some point before, reclaiming Cyprus ( Kittam).

The only question is when?

WIKI

The KORKUT is a Turkish all-weather-capable 35 mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) developed by Aselsan.

...each Korkut system comprises one command and control vehicle and three weapons platforms. Each weapon platform carries a twin 2×35 mm Oerlikon KDC-02 cannon, manufactured under licence by MKEK. Each weapons system can fire up to 1,100 rounds a minute up to a range of 4 km. The command and control vehicle has an effective radar range of 70 km.

ATOM 35mm airburst ammunition ejects tungsten pellets at a predetermined distance. It is a smart ammunition which has a base fuse. Together with the ability of precise time counting and the capability of being programmed during firing by taking muzzle velocity into consideration automatically sets the fuse to detonate the round as it approaches a pre-set distance from the target. Whilst a single pellet is too small to do major damage in itself, the accumulation of damage from multiple strikes is designed to destroy wings and control surfaces, sensors and aerodynamics, causing the target to crash. According to Aselsan, the ammunition is resistant against electromagnetic jamming.

“They will at some point be marching on Israel”

The Turks learned a lesson in WWI. They stayed out of WWII.

Erdogan is not a ‘nice’ Turk. He would wipe out Israel if he could safely do so.

Hezbollah has a friend in Ankara.

A former British colony, Cyprus became independent in 1960 after years of resistance to British rule. Tensions between the Greek Cypriot majority and Turkish Cypriot minority came to a head in December 1963, when violence broke out in the capital of Nicosia. Despite the deployment of UN peacekeepers in 1964, sporadic intercommunal violence continued and forced most Turkish Cypriots into enclaves throughout the island. In 1974, a Greek Government-sponsored attempt to overthrow the elected president of Cyprus was met by military intervention from Turkey, which soon controlled more than a third of the island. In 1983, the Turkish Cypriot administered area declared itself the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” (TRNC), but it is recognized only by Turkey. A UN-mediated agreement to reunite Cyprus, the Annan Plan, failed to win approval from both communities in 2004. The most recent round of reunification negotiations was suspended in 2017 after failure to achieve a breakthrough.

The entire island joined the EU in 2004, although the EU acquis — the body of common rights and obligations — applies only to the areas under the internationally recognized government and is suspended in the TRNC. However, individual Turkish Cypriots able to document their eligibility for Republic of Cyprus citizenship have the same legal rights accorded to citizens of other EU states.

Turkey is a financial asset case. They’ve had eighty percent inflation for years. Ergodan is distracting the public from the price of bread.

Good point. The “rally ‘round the flag” routine is a good distractor, at least for awhile. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Biden’s handlers tried something similar between now and November, especially if it looks like Trump will win hugely.

Your “ opinion” is noted. As usual, I check often what Scripture states, it is inerrant.

Scripture says nothing about Turkey ... or Russia, or NATO, or the UN, or the EU.

It is merely your "opinion" that some ancient nation mentioned in Scripture is Bible code for some 21st century nation.

For centuries, people have relied on the "inerrancy of Scripture" to prove that they were living in the End Times. Their opinions were wrong, and so is yours.

Scripture might be inerrant. People's interpretation of Scripture isn't.
