I think [Vance] is a bad decision for a number of reasons.
At 39, Vance is too young...with less than two years in the Senate as his only political office, he has nowhere near the experience that a VP should bring to a ticket.
Vance, who is unknown to the general public, won’t bring Trump a single new vote. In fact, there is no reason to think that he is any kind of political powerhouse: in his only race, he ran far behind the other statewide Republican candidates in Ohio.
...Vance’s political views are...half-baked. He is still evolving...he denounced Trump viciously in 2016, while now he is an acolyte. In 2016, it was dumb of Vance to describe Trump as an “idiot,” as “noxious,” as one who is either “a cynical asshole” or “America’s Hitler,” just as it is dumb for Democrats to say the same things today. Vance’s never-Trumpism showed poor judgment, and 2016 is not exactly ancient history. Vance converted to Catholicism in 2019...we don’t need a president or vice president who is still on a voyage of self-discovery.
...on foreign policy...he strikes me as something close to an isolationist. He attacks the Iraq war in a manner barely distinguishable from leftists, and his statement that “I got to be honest with you, I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or another,” is flippant at best. The world needs a strong America; I am not sure Vance agrees.
...Vance is a bright guy and a pretty solid conservative, I don’t think he is...ready for prime time, and I don’t think he makes a perceptible contribution to the ticket. Trump had a number of much better choices available, and I think his selecting Vance reflects the poor judgment to which Trump is occasionally prone.

It’s a done deal now, can’t be worse than Pence by an order of magnitude.
This article nails it nicely. Bleh.
Vance is thoughtful, intelligent and interesting. We need someone who will go on the offensive. Would you rather have Pence?
Hinderaker always aligns with conventional wisdom, were exactly has conventional wisdom gotten the RNC?
If not for Trump’s unconventional approach we would have seen Hillary as president, so while I respect his analysis I always take it with a grain of salt.
What did Hinderaker think of President Trump when he first was going to run? Just curious.
So we lose a valuable Senate seat and he will probably be replaced by a dem.
It’s pretty disappointing.
Nope. He’s articulate on policy where Trump isn’t. A bridge to the younger generation. He could be the Pied Piper of the next generation of conservatives. Then again he may not. Just look at what the MSM got away with in their treatment of Dan Quayle.
Ask yourself how many years of political experience Trump had?
Well he has an Indian wife and they both went to Yale so that might bring a few new votes over.
Richard Nixon was 39 and had less than two years in the Senate when he was elected vice president--and he proved to be one of our best vice presidents.
I think it will make it much more difficult for Dominion, unregistered illegals, dead people, ballot stuffers, foreign interference and computer hackers to steal the election now that Vance is on the ticket.

Tucker Carlson Reveals Stunning Insights on J.D. Vance
“Every bad person I’ve ever met in a lifetime in Washington was aligned against JD Vance.”
Now, that’s saying something.
For this reason, Tucker thinks people should be “thrilled” about this VP pick.
What’s extraordinary about Vance, Tucker emphasizes, is that “He’s like one of the only members of the Senate with a happy marriage.”
Carlson also observed that the power-hungry “elite” despise Vance, not for personal reasons, but because they find him “harder to manipulate and slightly less enthusiastic about killing people.”

I don’t think Vance helps or hurts Trump in terms of getting votes.
Great point!
Correct. Trump's political were far more radical at one time. He evolved. Why not give Vance a chance to improve?
I suppose Hindraker would have preferred an established RINO conservative. Like Pence.
Liberals hate it and that’s a great thing.
Breaking the youth dem love is good and western PA is where it may all come down to this time.
Trump is going to win anyway and Vance will have his chance to rise up to be next in line. Will see what he has in him. He will smoke Harris in a debate. I also like that he’s been around the east coast elites and is unimpressed. I know the feeling. It’s liberating when you figure it out. That’s in him.
And that's a bad thing how?
Vance is a learner. In the inerview Hannioty did with hin in Wisconsin at the shidig tonight, he openly admitted he was not a fan of Trump in 2016. And that’s all right. But he also declared he was going to support the Trump platform and be prepared to step in for him when he had too much on his plate. And that’s what is expected of him.
He is a self made old school conservative that has every chance of being a good number 2 and pushing the senate in the direction it needs to go after all these years of bleary politics in there.

Trump made his pick. It is what it is. Our choice in November is the communist party or Trump. Roll with what you have instead of what you want.
