I don’t know why Pres. Trump can’t have a debate without the “backing” of the msm. But there must be a reason.

Yet another event to wake folks the f up to what’s really going on in this country. Can you say extreme bias... yes, I thought you could.
IMHO, if that happens, it may not work to Biden's (or CNNs) benefit. In fact, it may do the opposite.

Because it will backfire on them. The media will be clown themselves hitting that mute and folks will see it for what it is. The hardcore lefties will cheer, but regular Americans who are on the fence will be drawn to the underdog, just as blacks and Hispanics are already becoming sympathetic towards Trump.
I hope that does happen. And I hope Trump reacts by declaring the “debate” a fraud and walks off the set. Thus putting an end to these Kabuki TV debates forever.
I think this is exactly what will happen. Everyone here is second guessing Trump should wait and see what happens. The live comparison of Trump speaking and Biden time will be easy to determine. They will try every dirty trick in the book to make Trump loose his cool. If he doesn't, he wins regardless of the debate. It will be obvious to everyone how biased and crooked CNN is.
I will be surprised if this event actually takes place. How do you take a senile old man and turn his brain “on” for a 90 min debate? Fill him full of dopamine or insert a “stand in?”
You tell me. What does he have to gain from a debate hosted by TDS moderators and with rules skewed in favor of criminal Joe. Joe sitting throughout the debate is a huge advantage for someone who can barely walk and doesn't know where he is half the time. Muted mics are a huge advantage to criminal Joe because they gag a man (Trump) who excels in punching and counter-punching with his words. This can't be done with a muted mic.
What is wrong with Trump and the RNC? They allowed the Dems to make all the rules and of all networks - they agreed to CNN hosting. I don't get it. Please don't mention 3D chess.
Actually, it was a pretty smart move. I don’t think the Dems or the media expected Trump to agree to a debate and given the conditions imposed by the Biden Team, even more so.
They are kind of backed into a corner. Everyone thinks Biden will be given the questions beforehand, which is probably true. The problem is, can Biden process all that information and maintain it for 90-minutes. I’m guessing the Trump Team is betting he can’t.
Biden doesn’t have a TelePrompter to read off of. This isn’t the State of the Union where he has not only the prompter but the written speech in front of him. This will be totally extemporaneous.
This is where Biden is most vulnerable.
Trump, if he can keep his cool, can walk into the lion’s den much like he has in the Bronx, Philly, and Detroit, and come away with the potential to pick up a few undecided voters who will hear the man unfiltered. Speaking directly to the people is his strength.
My only worry is Trump’s propensity to make things about HIM. He needs to talk in terms of what he will do for US and not set himself up as center of attention.
This will probably be one of the most watched Presidential Debates in history. Trump can win it or lose it if he speaks in terms of what was accomplished in his first term. Don’t dwell on the 2020 election. Acknowledge the inequities in the DOJ and say it be fixed. Disarm the CNN moderators (Tapper and Bash) by not taking the bait.
Show Joe to be exactly what he is, not competent to be President.
Last fair debate was probably Reagan-Carter. And we know how that turned out.

Yes, Trump will for a time suffer being blatantly put upon by the moderators. Then, he’ll let them have it with a memorable oath, outburst, objection, condemnation, insult...something natural, incisive and politically devastating.
The moderators will suffer a massive dose of embarrassment and will soon thereafter be criticized for “giving Trump a forum”.
