They are not so much batteries are solid state DC generators.

Furthermore, a solid-state electrolyte such as lithium aluminum germanium phosphate (LAGP) costs about $7,500 per kilogram ($16,500/lb).

True. They didn’t need to force people to buy the new automatic transmissions, power steering, power brakes or power windows, or rear window defrosters.
