Matt Gaetz Explains Why He Cannot Support Removal of Speaker Johnson
The Conservative Treehouse - The Last Refuge ^ | April 2, 2024 | Sundance

During this interview with Dan Ball, Representative Matt Gaetz explains why he cannot support the effort by Marjorie Taylor Greene to vacate the chair and remove Speaker Mike Johnson. {Direct Rumble Link}

As outlined by Gaetz, there are two or three specific republicans, former democrats, who will vote to support Hakeem Jeffries if the opportunity arises.  With all of the exits from the GOP House team noted, it will be a struggle to keep the house in republican control in 2025 even with a resounding victory by President Trump.  WATCH:

Only two words need to be said as to why Johnson should remain as SOH...

Hakeem Jeffries.

There is much more that can be said in favor of Johnson, and indeed there is some validity to Greene’s complaints. But leave Johnson alone.

I’m all ears but that doesn’t mean I support Johnson or want him to continue as speaker.

We need people to step up and oppose the 200 RINO’s like Johnson in any way possible. Be in a write-in candidate in your Primary Elections.

At least one RINO has a primary opponent here in PA that I know of.

I don’t care about Democrats running the House at this point.

I do care about this push towards war and its real and its Bipartisan.

These SOB’s think its 1941 but they reeks of incitement to Armageddon IMHO.

I don’t see Adolf Hitler over on the other side I see $$$$ and economic domination as the driving force from our side of the fence.

Conservative Republicans are stuck between a president who’s dumb as a rock and a very soft/squishy place: the RINO caucus.

Matt Gaetz is now attempting damage control over the disaster of his impetuous making.

At this point, the House Republican caucus couldn’t muster a majority to turn on the lights. I don’t care who the Speaker is; he won’t have a working majority. But ... the pubbies still have the power to hold hearings, investigate and issue subpoenas. The moment Hakeem Jeffries becomes Speaker, every investigation will be shut down, all the information developed to date will be suppressed, whistleblowers will be exposed and thrown to the Garland DOJ, and Biden will have no institutional check on his power to do whatever he wants to do in secrecy. Biden is already behaving lawlessly, and he’s getting hyper-aggressive as the election closes in. With Schumer and Jeffries in control on the Hill, both Houses of Congress will simply default on the last vestiges of accountability.

Yes, it still matters who is Speaker.

Matt Gaetz was 100% right to get rid of Kevin McCarthy.

McCarthy had to go, he broke promises he never intended to keep.

Now the good thing is that our leaders know that we are holding them accountable. And that includes Johnson.

Then there’s Gallager. Why didn’t Johnson call for getting rid of him? Pelosi had no problem keeping her people in line.

Johnson, Pelosi, McCarthy, Hakeem Jeffries, throw a dart. They’re all the same except for the political team they play for. I’m glad I don’t belong to either side.

Mike Johnson was on Eric Bolling, Hannity, and some other show last night. Not one of those hosts had the courage to even mention Mike Gallagher’s name to Johnson. The elephant in the room! Unbelievable.

“Yes, it still matters who is Speaker. “

Once they get into the minority, the first thing all these RINO douches start doing is voting unanimously against everything Biden wants, Ukraine, debt ceiling, border deal etc.

We get all sorts of nightmare scenarios that Speaker Jeffries will do. None of which happened in 2021-22.

If you don’t punish them. They will never change.

Gaetz started this whole mess with the removal of McCarthy. What was accomplished?

Your analysis has validity but I cannot look with favor on Johnson or as noted 200 of those Republicans in Washington right now.

Not worthy of my vote compromisers through and through leading us to Armageddon with their support for Ukraine and overall belligerent attitude towards other nations.

I would call for a vote to get rid of him. Even though he’s not going to get rid of him, I think he’s not going to like the attention. He’s probably looking for a cushy job at the K Street after he leaves Congress. Maybe Johnson can use that against him.

What was accomplished?

A lot WOULD have been accomplished if Jim Jordan had succeeded McCartney, but the Assistant Democrat RINOs made sure that didn't happen.
