Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan is launching his own digital media company that he’s hoping will fill a “gap in the market.”
“No one really on the progressive left has been able to pull off anything similar,” Hasan told The Washington Post’s Jeremy Barr about the venture.
He added later that there is a “craving” and “gap in the market” he intends to fill.
“I believe there is a craving for media organizations that don’t shy away from saying the truth, even if it’s uncomfortable, even if it bothers people, even if it hinders access, even if it shakes the apple cart,” he said. “From a purely business perspective, there is a gap in the market.”

Lately I’ve just been watching youtube on the TV. Some great content on there. Great podcasters. I am not a huge fan of the algorithm in general but it seems to “know” what videos to cue up next that I might like. Which I find very odd because Google search has turned to crap; burying stories that I know I used to be able to find fairly easily. Google search seems to be pushing content that pays them (and of course, fits their narrative), while youtube I guess gets paid about the same whatever you watch? Plus it’s not as easy to share videos as you can cut/paste text and share a link. You all reading this are done but I made this post a video you’d probably not watch it.
