US officials do not have the capabilities to defend America against a hypothetical alien invasion, internal Pentagon watchdogs have determined.
A newly declassified document found the Department of Defense (DoD) lacks comprehensive or coordinated effort to track and analyze UFOs - which have been rebranded Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in recent years.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) made the eerie conclusion that this blindspot in the DoD's defensive capabilities 'poses a threat to military forces and national security.'

The first group are Darwinists who believe that all that can exist is whatever our senses can know. This group might believe that extraterrestrials do not exist but nevertheless provide frightening material for the psychological manipulation of subhumans, aka unevolved hominids/apes. Some others might believe that since evolution has been occurring everywhere throughout the cosmos for millions or billions of years that extraterrestrials are highly evolved beings who might have seeded earth with life. Others of this group hold that such beings might perceive us as food should they come here
The other worldview group believe in the existence of unseen dimensions, telepathy, spirits, ghosts, walk-ins (temporary possession), and extraterrestrials. To them, extraterrestrials are beings like Hathor, featured in the book UFO of God. At one time Hathor was a highly revered Egyptian goddess symbolized by either bull or cow, making Hathor transexual. Today Hathor arrives in a spaceship as an emissary from the divine one substance. She/he comes bearing great gifts of knowledge such as christ is within you.

That's an insult to the graduates of my alma mater (UGA).
Not me of course. I'm not insulted. Being of above-average intelligence, I was never socially accepted as an unevolved hominid/ape.;-)
I didn’t say it would work. However, I am sure it would be expensive.
I am sure you know there are many other possible worldviews on this subject.
My favorite “expert”—far outside the two alternatives you presented:

The short version of his view is that human perception, technology, religion, philosophy etal is inadequate for this task.
It is like asking ants to explain the existence of humans—it just does not compute.
Our failure to understand what is going on tells us a whole lot about us—and not much about them.
As for extraterrestrials, near-death experiences, remote viewing, etc. all belong within the mystical pantheist and occult category, ie., shamanism.
But then, you're a Christian created by God and not a 'caused' not created type. That accounts for your above average intelligence and not fitting in :-)
I’m guessing about half a quadrillion.
It was!
Your way of framing issues oversimplifies and confuses.
When we are children we have to label everything to understand it.
This is a box.
This is a bird.
This is science.
This is religion.
Our “world” or “universe” does not play by those human rules.
If you stop putting labels on everything and just listen and learn a whole new world awaits you.
Dropping an asteroid would make the planet useless for a long while. It makes little sense if you want to take over a functioning world.
If I remember “The Expanse” correctly they dropped an asteroid on Baltimore and it looked better afterwards.
;-)
Depends entirely upon how large it is. There is a huge assortment of them out there.
That's because they want Congress to infer that if more money was directed to the military, they'd have the capability.
