Bonus points to anyone who can recommend a light-compatible chest holster.

Taurus Millennium 9 mm.
Great accuracy, price is reasonable, not jammed or mis-fired yet, and is light and compact.

You'll probably have to have that custom-made. Lot's of custom kybex holster makers around the US. I personally like L.A.G. Tactical, which is about 3 miles from my house, does great custom work, where I am a long-time customer. For reference:

Even a 1911 frame needs modifications to fire a 10mm. No such problems with the S&W 1006

Call me old school but I wouldn’t hang a light on it. Use off hand for flashlight if you must.

I put a laser on my Kahr CM9. Hated it. Maybe a red dot would work better, don’t know. I am of the opinion that iron sights are the best for hand guns. Need more than that, use a rifle.

TLR7 sub from streamlight. runs about $125. Surefire is overpriced for the power.

Personally I would not have a light for my pistol because you are pointing a loaded weapon at whatever you are pointing your light. What if it is a teenage daughter or son sneaking in late and they startle you while you are pointing a gun at them?

I have a 4.6" Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 (10mm) I'd like to put a light on. I've never had a pistol with a light before, and am finding myself a bit overwhelmed by the sheer variety of choices. Sounds like you just want to be a cool Rambo...........
A hand held, high lumen flashlight will start you off just fine......

I have an Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkrie which works well.
Light, bright and compact.
Streamlight, Olight and Holosun have good, reasonably priced stuff available.
Having a replaceable CR123a battery, rather than being rechargeable is a plus.

Olight has some decent pistol lights. I have one of their mini flashlights and have EDC’d it for about 5 years.

For lights, I got nuthin'.
That said, I've fired this same S&W pistol, and fount it to be remarkably accurate for such a powerful cartridge.
