seems that China needs to import “migrants” far more these WE do. could we do a migrant bus lift to help them out? Greg Abbott could teach the bluer States how.
It’s interesting to see what happens. China’s economy may very well collapse before it escapes the middle income trap.
Wow, they could run out of people soon!
There are a billion of them
Well, the mandatory “one child” law that was in place for 30 years got people into the habit. That’s enough time for society to reorganize around near-non-existent families. I believe this is the year that India surges ahead of Red China in total population.
Of course South Korea is NOT doing much better, fertility-wise, and they didn’t have a one child law. And don’t even ask about western Europe!
Drill baby, drill.
China ,with even more women than men , it is even worse than merely being at the bottom.
A totalitarian government such as China can do things to deal with this. Such as, restricting abortion and birth control. They might enact policies to encourage marriage and children,
If Chinese leaders see this as a major problem, look for them to implement the plans to deal with it.
China is a highly-regulated, socialist economy with vast government interference in all aspects of life. But they have adopted non-marxist aspects of market economy like printed, fiat-money, and massive debt, passed through government hands.
Don’t laugh because we in the USA are in a similar model, if not to the same degree.
It creates a small class of winners in the economy (as well as a huge government) while the vast majority people must run even harder and take on big debts, to stay even.
Young people have a work culture called “9-9-6” which means from 9AM-9PM, 6 days a week. Housing, education in particular are super-expensive. Young people can’t afford it, so they simply don’t get married. Men drop out of participating in society. Again, like the USA, Covid lock-downs made this even worse.
Ying and Yang.
What goes up eventually goes down.
Who wants to bring a child into a world of abject poverty brought on by a political system?
