As if those retirees on a fixed income are partying till they drop. Millenials raises may have fallen way behind inflation but people on a fixed income don’t even get raises. They are falling WAY behind.

DITTO...Our home owners insurance alone has take 10x more from our budget than any raise has brought in.

Our kid is a late Millennial, and they are having no issue with their careers and owning a house (purchased two years ago). I submit that far too many people aren’t willing to put in the hard work that is necessary for success.
Don’t we all?
Constantly tell my kids. Just showing up these days is 90% of the way there.
The 40-somethings at Safeway complain the new younger ones don’t want to work.
Most supermarket jobs are pretty much dead-end. Still they can lead to something better. Local governments don’t help. Too many free services the local workers pay for through their property taxes.
just wait until millennials find out that getting a job can be surprisingly easy. it’s the KEEPING a job that has them perplexed. “like, I got this job, you know...and like, you know, some type of actual work was, you know, like involved and like no one told me I was, you know, going to need like actual knowledge of what they, you know, wanted me to do there. so I got up in the bosses face you know, like my professors at college told me I should do when feeling oppressed, and then I was let go for no reason”.
I’ve told my boys all their lives 90% of it is just showing up. And, if you’re doing that already, might as well get to work.

Sounds much like the early 1970s. But then we still went to work and hoped for a better paying job, and it worked!
