I am curious and sure others know more than me.
Even in the election furor, I believe a supposed Office Holder accusing an opponent of a crime for which he was not charged is Slander.
Flame away.
Now back to lurking.

IIRC it’s difficult to “slander” or “libel” a public figure.
Public figures are open to a lot of abuse without much recourse.
Maybe not slander but how about totally a lie!
I understand.
This has to be close though.
Whether legal slander or not he is using Slanderous language as the _resident.
Trump just had a door opened for him although he doesn’t care. This is politics and slander or libel is difficult at best to prove and very time consuming to pursue.
Yes. Actionable.
I’m no lawyer, and I do not play one on TV. But it’s my understanding that it is very difficult to prove slander against a public person like Trump.
For example, suppose I say that my neighbor murdered someone. And he got away with it. I have no proof. I can be sued, and he’ll probably win.
Now suppose I say that Hillary Clinton murdered someone. And she got away with it. I have no proof. I can be sued. But I’ll win.
Yes,it’s true that The Big Guy’s middle name is Slander.
Joe “The Slander Man” Biden.
Ask E. Jean Carroll’s lawyer about alleged defamation by a sitting president.
“Judge” Chutkus put the gag order on the wrong guy.
If that were true, slander, then Trump would be hauled into court by Biden and others for continuous ranting on Biden and others. These are public figures duking it out in a campaign, the courts don’t involve themselves in verifying what is true and what is a lie.
I’m not a lawyer, but Biden’s statement was presented as fact, not supposition. Trump has not been charged with insurrection, nor even charged with “supporting” an insurrection. This statement of fact, coming in a public statement from a sitting pResident, who is supposed to be the opposing candidate to the person he slandered without proof, makes me think that Trump would have a case to sue.
Sounded to me like insurrection.
Might help with impeachment inquiry.
I just wanted it talked about somewhere.
Yeah it is, but considering they are both running for the same spot in 2024, there could be more weight to it, especially from a defamation angle.
Which reminds me of my favorite Hillary joke:
Hillary is giving a talk to a third grade class. Little Johnny raises his hand. “I have a question. Where did all the Clinton Foundation money go?”
Just then the lunch bell rings. Everyone files out of the room, and heads towards the cafeteria. After lunch, Hillary resumes her talk with the class.
Susie raises her hand. “I have three questions. One, where did all the Clinton Foundation money go? Two, why did the lunch bell ring at 9 AM? And three, where is Little Johnny?”
It does seem highly inappropriate for a POTUS to make such a comment about a defendant currently on trial. But Democratic immunity probably deodorizes it.
