While supporters of former President Donald Trump may have been getting increasingly excited about the possibility of a certain former Fox News host being chosen as Trump’s running mate, but one man who has been very close to the former president’s political thinking in the past has a message for those folks:
Don’t get your hopes up.
Steve Bannon, who served as both the chief executive of Trump’s 2016 campaign and as a senior adviser to the president after the election told Sean Spicer on Thursday that he expected Trump to choose a woman as his potential vice president.

Enough with the identity politics. Pick the best MAGA candidate.
He doesn’t need electoral help. So if he’s choosing a woman, it ought to be because she’s the best person for the job and in the event of the heartbeat rule, ready to step in. He’s always done well with selections to be key people in his admin.
And they've responded to the Republicans so far.
Methinks Bannon is ‘Trump Trolling’
Marjorie Taylor Greene - let the liberal heads explode.
Yes, I agree. Just get the right person - someone who’s loyal to the MAGA agenda and scares the deep state more than Trump.
Kari Lake is very impressive.
Kristi Noem wrote a nice book.
Nikki Haley is too jingoistic for my tastes and presents a natural born citizenship legal risk.
You mean like Sarah Palin?
Maybe Trump could say “I hereby solemnly commit to selecting a lesbian black woman as my running mate.” (Just kidding....)
Just one view but a researched article in Sage Journals:
The “Palin Effect” in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election
Using data from the American National Election Studies, this article addresses whether the Sarah Palin affected vote choice in 2008. Findings indicate not only that evaluations of Palin were a strong predictor of vote choice—even when controlling for confounding variables—but also that Palin’s effect on vote choice was the largest of any vice presidential candidate in elections examined dating back to 1980. Theoretically, the article offers support for the proposition that a running mate is an important short-term force affecting voting behavior. Substantively, the article suggests that Palin may have contributed to a loss of support among “swing voters.”

The VP should be one who can be elected POTUS in 2028 and continue Trump’s MAGA program. It will take much longer than 4 years to right this mighty ship of state and he must keep that in mind when making his selection.
“scares the deep state more than Trump”
I don’t think any such person exists.
The VP should have no political career.
A Hispanic business guy. The Vivik business guy. Or women or black business people. Or retired military.
But under no circumstance anyone from the Swamp.
I’m betting Stormy Daniels doesn’t make the short list.
TULSI GABBARD
Just saying
Trump should “come out” as a female and run to be the first female president.
Governor Noem is a safe bet.
That would be a stupid idea. Stop being stupid.
She's great but needs to stay in the Senate. Besides, nobody is going to switch to President Trump because Marsha Blackburn is on the ticket.
If President Trump wants his proxies to push a full-on populist VP for the future, he should be floating someone like Tulsi Gabbert. She would make liberal heads explode.

The only males that comes to my mind are Tucker Carlson and Ben Carson.
Or Liz Cheney
