Do the residents of the Gaza Strip support Hamas or suffer from it?
Haaretz newspaper promotes a claim that the residents of Gaza are victims of Hamas and not those who give it its power. The data (again) show that the reality is different.

Last Friday, an article was published in the 'Haaretz' supplement about the hardships of left-wing activists among the residents of the Otef [Envelope], in view of the new horrific reality.
The repeated refrain in their words was the apparent gap between Hamas and the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The activist Neta Heiman, for example, is quoted as stating that: "The Palestinian people themselves are suffering a lot from Hamas rule."
Activist Yael Noy states that: "The Gazans are held captive by Hamas and fear Hamas more than we do."
And more.
Their words raise a real, important and interesting question:
Do not the residents of Gaza support the actions of Hamas, do not sympathize with the murderous movement and are even its victims? Or is it the opposite - their support for Hamas is strong and it is what gives the criminal terrorist organization its strength?
All the data points to a clear answer. The interviewees for the article in Haaretz newspaper are wrong and misleading. The residents of Gaza are not victims of Hamas but quite the opposite. They themselves are Hamas, they are the ones who give it its power and its legitimacy and they will also choose him again and again if he is nominated for elections.
A relatively recent survey shows that support for Hamas is already high and is even increasing following Guardian of the Walls [link]. According to this survey, 94% of Palestinians stated that they "feel proud of the performance of the Gaza Strip in the campaign".
The data is not a standard deviation as a result of the 'Guardian of the Walls' clashes. Regularly and for years [link] , the residents of the Gaza Strip are more extreme than the residents of Yosh in their support for the path of Hamas, even though the Arabs of Yosh as mentioned also support Hamas.
The massive support for Hamas in Palestinian society in general and Gazan society in particular, does not come in a vacuum. It relies on explanations and reasons that make a lot of sense.
The assumption that the Gazan public is a "victim" of Hamas is, therefore, an arrogant assumption. It includes contempt for Palestinian society, which stems from the deep difficulty of looking at the present reality and drawing the necessary difficult conclusions from it.
both
Today or under Trump?
Yes
Next question
Who cares?
The Gazans hate Israel more than Hamas.
Yeah. I would say both. People don’t like their rulers and leaders, but they say that they support them because they don’t like the other side either.
I say ship the protesters over there on the first flight out.
“The massive support for Hamas in Palestinian society in general and Gazan society in particular, does not come in a vacuum. It relies on explanations and reasons that make a lot of sense.” Not complex at all: Your average muzzie has been taught (by Koran, Hadith, school and popular entertainment) to hate Jews and that their duty is to kill jews. Hamas’ program objective is driven by anti-semitism and is to destroy Israel and murder the jews. Therefore, the people love Hamas and support them.
No accident that lots of them have stayed in north Gaza to shield the active terrorists. They know there’s a risk but figure it is up to Allah to decide if they get killed by the IDF or not.

Horrific video purportedly shows Gaza street strewn with at least a dozen bodies gunned down by Hamas

Those Imam lectures...
Both, actually.
During the years I lived in an Arab country there were a number of times when my Arab coworkers would tell me that I really didn’t want to hear what the Imams were preaching in the mosque. A lot of the locals ate that hate stuff up.
What does Trump have to do with this?
I would like to see an IQ chart on the palis.
“lot of the locals ate that hate stuff up.”

Or most.
