Hamas and Iran f**d around, will find out

Sometimes a military operation is such a tactical success that you enrage the enemy and lose the war. Just ask Japan: their surprise attack on Pearl Harbor was a smashing victory, but turned an anti-war American population into a fierce enemy that crushed not just Japan, but Germany and Italy simultaneously. Likewise, Hamas thought they had everything going for them when they pulled off the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, but it is going to blow up in their face.

If you know you can’t achieve your strategic objectives militarily — or via terrorist tactics — why risk war in the first place? Japan figured we didn’t want to stop their empire-building badly enough to send millions of our boys off to die. By killing thousands of Americans that infamous Sunday morning they got our blood up and steeled America’s resolve. Based on Israel’s previous limited responses to Palestinian or Lebanese terror attacks, Hamas had every reason to believe they could carry out their barbaric assault. After a limited counterattack, the rest of the world would pressure Israel into a ceasefire. Hamas comes out ahead because Israel would likely not want to invade the Strip and risk staggering casualties in a potential Middle East Stalingrad. Meanwhile the Iranians, who are behind all of this, shore themselves up as regional strongman while breaking up the developing peace between Israel and Arab states. Iran’s win-win-win-win-win scenario?

Iran is more than happy to sacrifice Palestinians. No Muslim country will take them in; they want the troublesome Palestinians right where they are as martyrs against the Israelis. The Iranians are out nothing when their Palestinian pawns are killed, and the propaganda from Israeli counterattacks which inevitably kill Palestinian civilians is even more useful to the cause. There is simply no downside for

Find out? Maybe not. We’ve already sent all our cool military toys to U-Krane. Israel needs toys to go into Gaza. The DC Sock Puppet in Charge is playing “Can’t we all get along?” with everybody. I suspect that behind the scenes the IDF is super pissed with the ‘Merican Gummnt. They should be.

Iran’s stirring for a fight.
The last combat they really had was with Iraq. Thatt included indiscriminate SCUDmissilees going both ways.

And sometimes an enemy might feign weakness in order to draw his overconfident adversary into a trap. It’s been done before.

Figures, after I publish I see that we have reportedly carried out air strikes in Syria in response to missile attacks. Hitting Iran back with limited air strikes seems justified, because they can’t risk war with us. I don’t have any good sources, but I’d sure like to think that we might have more of a stockpile of weapons than we and our enemies are led to believe. Could be mistaken though, given who’s in charge. One party doesn’t like us and the other party sees us as the enemy.

Maybe. But the mullahs want everyone else to die for Allah, not them. Not sure what exactly they would accomplish picking a fight with the United States. Especially when quid pro Joe is in office cutting them checks. If some peons get smoked in American airstrikes, that could just be the cost of doing business to them.

That's not surprising coming from a culture that used its children to clear mine fields in its war with Iraq.

Don’t forget we left billions of dollars worth of cool toys behind in Afghanistan too.

You’ve seen with your own eyes what America’s “Rapist In Chief” (or, more correctly, his ruling puppet master obama) has done with our strategic petroleum reserves...

why would you believe that “he” has not done exactly the same thing with our weapons stockpile, and for the same reason?

He, obama (oops I mean Biden) HATES America. By extension, he hates YOU.

The Iranians have designed the killing fields to be in Gaza and South Lebanon. That’s where they want to draw the IDF and hopefully American troops. Let the Palestinians be the martyrs. I have a very disquieting feeling that aircraft carriers might be obsolete on the modern battlefield and we just don’t know it yet.

Yup. The “Palestinians” are largely Sunni.

The only ones that ever “finds out” good and hard is the American taxpayer.

I believe hamas and perhaps also Iran have seriously miscalculated. The terror attack was so horrific that a large part of previous public sympathy for Palestinians in western countries has evaporated. Further documentation will continue that process, and allow NATO countries to formulate military plans in co-ordination with Israel to attack a wide range of Iranian allies. They will regret this and it could even topple the Iranian regime as a large number of Iranians probably want nothing to do with a war against Israel and NATO, which is bound to lead to the destruction of Iran’s oil export economy. Biden may try to stall the inevitable, but neo-con factions who have previously been allied with the woke socialist Obama types will bring them into line by either flattery or intrigue, whatever it takes, to bring about the desired war.

You’ll recall who it was that used to sing “bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran.” (clue, ran for president in 2008 and lost) It is mainline neo-con policy to back Israel and oppose Iran. Rainbow crosswalks and carbon taxes can be put on hold until Iran is crushed, in their view.

I would not shed a tear if the Iranian regime fell, but I do see dangers of blundering into a regional war that could draw in Turkey, Syria, and even Russia.

On the other hand, perhaps this war is inevitable and foretold as the battle of Armageddon. If so, there is little point in worrying about it, this was going to happen anyway and our side wins.

Don’t worry, Bibi hasn’t depended on American leadership since Bribey took office.

Iran seems to have recognized that they need to reglaze the tiles on some of their public buildings and are asking for assistance from US STRATCOM.
