Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders is one of the hottest coaches in football at the moment. The Buffaloes are currently 3-0 and ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press poll with a huge game at Oregon coming this weekend.
But it wasn’t always clear that Sanders was headed for success in Boulder. He took plenty of criticism from posting his first meeting with his team. In no uncertain terms, he told the team that he was bringing his “Louis Vitton luggage” with him from Jackson and any player that didn’t like it should hit the portal.
Over 40 players took up Sanders on that offer. But so far, Sanders’ tough love has paid dividends for a program that won one game in the season prior to his arrival.
Sanders didn’t apologize for his method of operation in a recent interview with 60 Minutes.
“I think truth is good for the kids. We’re so busy lying we don’t even recognize the truth no more in society. We want everybody to feel good. That’s not the way life is,” he said, according to Fox News. “Now, it is my job to make sure I have what we need to win. That makes a lot of people feel good – winning does.”
Sanders said anyone who let words run them off wasn’t fit for his program anyway.
“If you went for that, if you were able to let words run you off, you ain’t for us because we’re an old-school staff. We coach hard. We coach tough. We’re disciplined. If you’re allowing verbiage to run you off because you don’t feel secure with your ability – you ain’t for us,” he said.
So far, it’s hard to argue with the results.
I know, that’s my point. He will be successful. People here thinking he’s to be admired are “my problem”.
I didn’t grow up in the South.
Keep mentally fellating negroes cuck.
TCU was a Top Four team in 2022, but lost its last three games in 2022 to highly ranked teams, including a crushing defeat by #1 Georgia in the Championship Game.
Nebraska has had just one winning season in the last seven years, so, no telling how strong they were.
Colorado State was an intra-state rivalry, which can often be unpredictable, but CSU has had five straight losing seasons.
I understand Dion has stressed the importance of endorsement money for new players, which might have attracted some elite players to Boulder.
So far, Dion's son at QB might be the most important reason that Colorado is 3-0.
You didn’t grow up there, Jersey boy, you just swallowed their racist beliefs.
You should have spit them out.
I don’t live in NJ either cuck.
“People here thinking he’s to be admired are “my problem”.”
Then comes Sanders, who talked about rebuilding the JSU brand, bringing in recruits and amplifying HBCUs to the mainstream.
“He sold the big dream. Now if you paid any attention, you knew the dream he was selling wasn’t possible – it was not an achievable one that he had – but he sold it and he got people to believe it, then he chucked the deuce and left,” Jones, the sports journalist, told CNN’s Don Lemon.
There’s no memory here, only today’s posts.
Thank you for the link.
23.5 point favorites and escaped with a double-OT win against a team with almost 200 yds in penalties and 4 turnovers.
Out passed and out rushed by a BOTTOM-10 team!
Oh, sure. Of course not.
But, did you enjoy the Outer Islands when you were there?
Go Ducks!
In other news, the state of Texas is represented in the Top 25 by exactly one team.
my way or the hi way... i’ve got the expensive luggage to prove i am worth listening to
that’s how i read it... and i would have stayed to play... if i made the team.
And your analysis is exactly right.
Guess we should have scheduled Bethune-Cookman or Boston College instead, eh?
“In other news, the state of Texas is represented in the Top 25 by exactly one team.”
Where do you think Colorado will be ranked next week?
It was your second observation. A smart coach doesn’t hang on to anyone from a 1-11 team. Players and coaches included.
Did you notice what #8 had just done?
my story is similar but deion asked me if i knew a buddabudd... and i said yes i do.
The “Outer Islands”, what is that?
Kamara was jacking his jaw and pushing folks, who were already on the ground, in the back of the head. He had already slapped another player across the helmet AND had already been flagged twice for USLC BEFORE the QB tuned him up. Kamara was subsequently booted for a cheap shot on Sanders in OT AFTER another CSU player absolutely leveled Hunter (who Sanders considers a blood brother since they were four years old), on one of the most blatant cheap shots I’ve ever seen. Those two players had a BOUNTY on them. I don’t begrudge Sanders poking that a$$hole in the eye one damn bit!!
There’s been a culture of anti-bullying bullying which has turned the concept on its head, and make people feel so entitled to bully others about inane stuff that they have psychotic breaks when *anyone* around them fails to pander to them.
