The closest i have ever come to hitting a cyclist with my car was one who was riding against traffic. I was at an intersection waiting to turn right. Visbility up the road I was turning right on was somewhat obscured by vehicles parallel parked. Cyclist moving pretty fast flies through the intersection just as I started to turn. Wouldn’t have been a problem if he had been on the other side of the road, riding with instead of against traffic. He was very lucky my reaction time was quick. I AM a cyclist. Riding against traffic is extremely dangerous.
IMO, light skinned PoC. You can also infer by the way at least one of them (possibly both), that he/they are black.
Not all blacks are black, black. Additionally, if they guy was really white, his picture would be all over the news right now.
Not to worry. They’ll be out of jail in 7 years or less. Wouldn’t want youths to be held accountable after all you’re not as dead as if you were killed by an adult which near as I can tell is the only reason for the disparity in sentencing
Yep.
Look carefully . The passenger is definitely black . Not sure about the driver . Appears to be white but could be a mulatto I suppose .
Tell me, in this case, if this bicyclist had been riding along the curb line towards traffic, is it possible the victim could have seen this vehicle coming at him and avoided it?
??
Isolated case. There’d be many more dead cyclists if they all rode against traffic.
You evaded the question.
One more time, if this bicyclist had been riding along the curb line towards traffic, is it possible the victim could have seen this vehicle coming at him and avoided it?
No, it's not. Where do get this bull s**t? Bicyclist riding alongside a roadway are killed all the time and most have their backs to traffic.
Now instead of evading the questions like some weasel, answer it.
If this bicyclist had been riding along the curb line towards traffic, is it possible the victim could have seen this vehicle coming at him and avoided it?
??
Yeah, cyclists get hit from time to time. Cycling is a dangerous activity. That one was an isolated case because the driver was acually trying to kill someone. If he had been riding against traffic with that particular driver coming toward him, then no, he probably wouldn’t have been able to avoid getting hit because the driver probably would have swerved into him at the last moment. I’ll give you this point—fewer cyclists would be hit from behind if they cycled against traffic. The problem with that is that a huge number of cyclists would be hit not from behind if they rode against traffic. No way in hell I’d ride against traffic. I’d probably get hit by a car within a month if not much sooner. Yes, traveling against traffic makes sense for pedestrians but it is foolish at the speeds most cyclists ride. I invite you to get on a bike and try it, preferably where there’s a lot of traffic.
But he possibly could have. At least he would have had a chance to avoid death. With his back to the vehicle, he never even saw what killed him. No chance, zip. Done.
You’re free to go through life blind, not looking to see what’s coming towards you. No problem. Same with people who turn their backs on traffic, pedestrians, bicyclist etc. I have no problem with people doing that, as long as I am not with them.☺
You mean like the dead bicyclist in this video? This happens all the time, and the only difference is it's not intentional. But the bicyclist is just as dead.
I speak from experience. You sound like you haven't a clue.
You’re a nutjob. I’m done with you.
Uh huh...You best run for the tall grass. See ya poser.
If you’re from Oakland, hating crime is a Hate Crime.
Just have better things to do than arguing with someone of your ilk. Have a nice day.
The bicycle rider did nothing wrong. He was murdered. Lefties are always blaming the victim and excusing the perpetrator. Sick.
