In Ohio we have had a very wet summer, puffballs come out every year but this year they are 4 times the size.

I’ve read that you can eat them. Th3y say tk s.ice and fry like a steak, or fry like portobello mushrooms- butter salt pepper. I don’t think there are any mushrooms that look similar but are poisonous, but I’m not sure so check out before trying.

I cooked some last year, praying for the flavor of a truffle but were actually yuck!
To: big bad easter bunny
I tried them once. Not much flavor at all.

I almost tried one a few years ago- but decided agaisnt it. I might try one though still. Ive never had truffles, so won’t know if it tastes like one or not- I gotta look on YouTube, they have some recipes to try.

Only a concern if they’re growing on your body.
To: Bob434
These look like they might be bland. Morels are the real deal…if you can find them.

Got 15 pounds of porcini (Boletus Edulis) on a hike this summer. Left 40 pounds on the mountain. Too heavy to carry down.
