Dogs are often considered man's best friend, but not everyone shares this sentiment. In a world filled with dog lovers, there exists a significant population of people who harbor a deep dislike or even hatred for these furry companions.

Hmm Biden or the Dog?
bark!
I agree. I carry differently because of dogs. I’ve been bitten by too many of them.
I’m not a dog person. They have about the same tendency to turn on people as snakes.
I do like dogs, I just don’t trust a single one of them until I’m sure everything is good.
I think the problem isn’t that people “hate” dogs. There are very few people like that. The REAL problem is that more people LOVE dogs excessively. Their dogs can do no wrong. And so there are a ton of dogs who are never disciplined or trained or really socialized and those dog owners give all dogs a bad name.
My theory why people love dogs excessively is that dogs will stick by someone no matter how crappy a person is. Therefore the person has no expectations or pressure to grow or change or really to be nice to other people.
As a result many people willingly enter into relationships with dogs or other pets but avoid relationships with people because to do so gives them actual feedback on their own behavior.
The rationale is “I’m not a bad person my dog loves me so why should I change just because everyone thinks I’m an ahole?”
I don’t hate dogs. But I do dislike people who love love LOVE their dogs to excess.
People who will spend $10,000 on vet bills just to keep an old elderly dog alive. When it would be more humane to put the poor thing to sleep.
People who tell a parent who’s child just died; “Oh I know how you feel. It’s the same as when my shi tzu died...”
People who kiss their “fur baby” on the mouth. I asked one such moron one time; “Do you kiss your dog before ar after he eats his feces in the yard?”
I got no answer.
It’s funny that you adduce a slavery component to this discussion.
One of my peeves is that the dogs actually seem to own the people. Bizarre. The dogs determine whether you can or cannot be away from the house for any length of time. I sometimes think, also, that the dogs are walking the people and saying, “Hey, you — pick up my sh1t, willya?”
I'll never forget our boxer when we told him it was time to get a bath would get down on his haunches in front of the bathroom door and said "NO!"
He controlled us, we didn't control him.

That a good enough reason to dislike dogs and to have a healthy disdain for their owners?
I love dogs, but I also carry a small baseball bat with me when biking around my rural area. Haven’t had to kill one yet. They see that bat and me getting ready to swing it and they back off pronto.
Cars are useless lumps of flesh. And they will at least occasionally scratch or bite no matter how good you are. Awful, despicable creatures straight from Hell.
Jesus is my NUMBER 1 friend, wife #2.
Had dogs until shortly before switching from farming to being an OTR trucker. Last dog crossed US 67 one too many times. Our dogs were farm assets. They lived outside (the breeds we had were made for it), had pens, leashes, dogs houses, and even hayracks (when not being used. Like a car port for dogs.
Wife, a city girl, grew up with dogs in the house 24/7. One, a mini poodle, was hers. She couldn’t imagine it living on a farm and left with her parents when we got married. She, when we were dating, told me she didn’t want pets in the house when she got hitched. She was tired of dog hair on her clothes, dogs licking her after licking themselves, dogs nosing her after nosing the butts of other dogs, being on call day or night to let the dogs out, etc.
Growing up on a livestock farm, I had pet dogs, cats, hogs, cattle, chickens, and my brother even had a pet red-tailed hawk. None lived in the house.
*cats
Your idiot brother don’t understand the dogs nose is everything. It tells them everything. It’s like their “Internet” so to speak.
Please tell me your occupation is not a psychologist. Yours was the most opposite description of human/canine relationship I have ever read.
I don’t hate dogs or cats but I don’t have the inclination to take care of one. I can pet and play with dogs if I am in the mood but I don’t want other people’s dogs or cats in my yard without permission. There are extreme dog lovers and dog haters and I try to avoid both. I can listen for a while to people talking about how smart their dog is, ditto sports but mostly I am bored by such discussion and try to avoid.
**Their to stupid to own and train them properly.**
Got some of those in the neighborhood here in rural Lewis county, TN.
Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend.
Inside of a dog it’s to dark to read.😁
See my tagline...
The more people I meet, the more I like my dog.
