Sharpshooter Annie Oakley, born On August 13, 1860, Was A Very Tough Woman.

How so? Both terms are pretty complimentary. Plus, the Army's marksmanship Qual levels have 'sharpshooter' Asa better level than 'marksmen'.

No they’re not. A marksman is always considered a master shooter whereas a sharpshooter is just an act. She was way beyond a marksman. To call her just a sharpshooter is demeaning.

while the marksman is the one on stage as part of the act.

Sharpshooter rolls off the tongue better than markswoman does. Sharpshooter may have actually been more accurate.. She claimed she didn’t aim . She said she just pointed and shot. She knew where the target was from any angle or position, even in a mirror.
