Source: Trump 'Target Letter' Does Not Mention Sedition or Insurrection, Ex-President is the Only Person Named

As we reported, Donald Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social Tuesday that Special Counsel Jack Smith has sent him a “target letter” indicating that more charges are coming against the former president. Trump was enraged that he was given a “very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment.”

On Tuesday, a source claimed to know further details of the letter:

The letter mentions three federal statutes: Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States; deprivation of rights under color of law; and tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant. It does not offer further details, nor does it detail how the special counsel believes Trump may have violated the statutes, the source tells Rolling Stone.

The letter does not mention statues [sic] on sedition or insurrection, according to the source. Trump is the only person named in the letter, the source says.

The informant said the letter points to the Special Counsel’s interest in getting Trump on election interference charges:

The source said the statues listed likely refer to the prosecutor’s interest in charging Trump with obstructing the election certification process, including Trump efforts to pressure Mike Pence to stop the certification of President Biden’s 2020 victory.

Trump has been facing an onslaught of investigations and charges in recent months as the Department of Justice and Special Counsel Jack Smith are seemingly on a crusade. The newest letter adds to the former president’s legal woes:

The notification deepens Trump’s legal peril as the 2024 presidential race heats up, with Trump as the front-runner for the Republican nomination. The former president already faces a separate federal prosecution on charges that he mishandled classified documents after leaving the White House, criminal charges in New York and the prospect of an additional indictment by a local prosecutor in Georgia.

NEW: Trump is set to be arrested and indicted again after he received a letter from Jack Smith saying he is the target of a J6 Grand Jury investigation.

In the past year, the former president has racked up 71 felony counts and could easily be over 100 soon.

Ask yourself: How is he leading Republican candidate facing so many felony counts yet the Democrat candidate, who pimped out his son to foreign entities for shady money, is actually being protected by the ‘Justice System.’

It’s simple.

America works under a selective justice system. When someone challenges the Washington Uniparty, they are examined and pursued to the highest possible degree.

When someone protects the Washington Uniparty, the so-called ‘Justice System’ actually becomes their asset and friend.

Sad but not surprising.

Trump himself was enraged, posting early Monday: “THIS WITCH HUNT IS ALL ABOUT ELECTION INTERFERENCE AND A COMPLETE AND TOTAL POLITICAL WEAPONIZATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT! It is a very sad and dark period for our Nation!”

He had more to say as the day continued:

None of the various charges, probes, investigations et al. are hurting Trump in the polls, however—his numbers have actually risen since the 37-count classified documents indictment dropped in June. Currently, a RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Trump at 54 percent in the race for the GOP nomination, with DeSantis at 20 and no one else even close.

Doesn't matter, still voting for him, even if I have to do a write-in. We all know what's going on here.

“The letter does not mention statues...”

Clearly, the letter does not mention the Statue of Liberty.

If you check my history, you can see I am not a big Trump fan. But this is beyond the pale. Trump will be convicted in DC. He will face the possibility of parole, or house arrest, I doubt he faces any prison time where would you house the SS. The libs are crowing about this as if this will save the country. All it will do is divide it further. Smith will further divide thus country, make us hate our fellow Americans even more, then he and his who're will return to Europe to live while we wallow in the $hit he leaves behind.

While I am not a Trump fan, I despise the GOPe even more than Smith, Garland and Wray. I will write Trump in if he is not on the ballot. Every MAGA voter that can should select a RAT ballot during the Primaries and vote for Kennedy. Some states do not allow that but NC does. Imagine Kennedy getting the nomination because MAGA voters voted him in😂😂😂😂

When you’re charged with Conspiracy, pretty much means they have nothing and they’re slinging as much sh*t against the hoping something sticks. Conspiracy is more of a ‘catch all’ than anything else.

Years ago, the DEA would go up on wiretaps. They’d record every number that called the drug dealers phone. They’d get all the information on the numbers and when ‘take down’ time came, EVERY person was rounded up and charged with what? Conspiracy.

It didn’t take long for the judges and the DOJ to put an end to that practice.

Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States ... I guess we’ll find out what fraudulent activity was being performed

deprivation of rights under color of law ... whose rights were being deprived

tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant ... If I’m not mistaken, this is similar to one of the things they prosecuted Stone under. DOJ said that Stone threatened a witness. Witness testified that he never took what Stone said as a threat and laughed it off, IIRC. So, I’m assuming there has to be a ‘victim/witness/informant’ that they’ll have to produce to testify that they were tampered with. Wonder who that is. Pence?

“ I don’t recall”, over and over. We learned this from Bill and Hill.

If it is Pence, he is toast politically. He should just drop out because he will face open hostility from voters. He won't even be able to get a speaking gig at a carnival. I am leaning towards Kemp, he is enough of a POS to testify against Trump. Or maybe Rat$hitberger.

**************

Smith is an anti Trump zealot and nutjob.

Every case against Trump could’ve proceeded over a year ago, that’s how to know they’re bogus & political in nature.

The only ones guilty of election interference are in the Biden administration. If a judge is too stupid too see this they should be impeached

I don’t know what the POSs from Georgia would have to do with Jan6. But they for damned sure will talk about his phone call.

I can only hope he has proof of them lying and they can perjure themselves during any proceedings.

“Smith is an anti Trump zealot and nutjob.”

It’s a career. If he has some success it will improve his income and possibilities for promotion. If he performs well, win or lose, it will help his career.

That’s okay, very good points, I had not thought about delaying charges the way they did. I thought it was more cover for Biden’s crime family. Unfortunately, Trump will be convicted in DC. That is why Smith brought these BS charges.
