Sorry but Kachina dolls are NOT idols, this is just clickbait to enrage people who have no knowledge of kachina dolls

The Hopis wouldn't like it either. This really is cultural appropration.
Now let's try: "What do you wish Muhammed had said? Write your own sura."

I remember reading all the Greek myths in fifth grade but it was books checked out of the library.
School back then was readin, ritin’ n rithmatic.
I don’t remember any class on religious studies even in HS. Okay, not even college.

Usually it's not a big deal. But a letter from the parents could simply ask the teacher to request alternatives for this class project.
I get it that the Left is trying to push an agenda. But it wasn't always like this in the past.

First Amendment Rights? Heck...what about the superior Ten Commandments?
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.

I don’t think this lesson is bad as it sounds. Back when I was teaching in the 70s, we studied Indian culture and made stuff like this. We also made a big table top model of Custer’s Last Stand with toy Indian and cavalry figures. Kids loved it.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

This sounds exactly like a Frank Peretti novel.
IIRC, it is the one *Piercing the Darkness*.

So, once again, the beliefs of the Native Americans is an evil thing.
And, once again, it seems, that the “messianic jew aka christian” is caterwauling about THEIR ‘first amendment rights’, while in the same breath, pooping on the beliefs of other Americans, without a second thought!
‘m a halfbreed Mojave, so I really don’t care who’s doing the pooping, so any and all parties denegrating other American’s religious beliefs are wrong.
(FWIW, theocracies are not ‘religions’ but political entities.)

“...were instructed in class to make a Kachina doll, used by the Hopi Indians as a “sacred object” to teach children about spirits believed to have “special powers,” such as curing the sick...”
So it turns out that religion is not banned from schools after all, just the worship of the God of the Bible..

The Hopi have a complex religion, and they use Kachina dolls to teach their children. Whites love to take such dolls as decorations, which is quite offensive to the Hopi.
I’m surprised that nobody has accused this teacher of “cultural appropriation”.
