Trump got the support of MANY Democrats, just as Reagan did, which is why they went after him so hard. Trump’s problem wasn’t so much as getting a good chunk of Democrats, but getting votes from the EV-driving Republicans, who simply thought Trump’s ‘brashness’ was more of a danger to the country than a half-dead figurehead who is hell-bent on starting World War 3.

The way the question was asked, people assumed it asked whether Biden should pardon trump.
I think a lot of D’s attitude would, in that situation, be, “the criminal stuff worked. no more need.”

On the other hand a good portion of the 30% of Dems might want PDJT pardoned so he is available to be the primary nominee to get beaten again in the general.

V. Ramaswamy GOP presidential candidate wants to pardon Trump.
This must be the game plan — convict, then pardon. Reasons:
First, pardons would save Dems from having convictions all overturned on appeal, ultimately to the SCOTUS.
Second, the Dems do not want the controversy to diminish their own political capital. They do not want to have to keep defending this insanity.
Third, they do not want Trump to be a martyr. Even if one accepts the Dems’ insane narratives, the punishments do not in any way fit the crime.
Fourth, they want to play the “compassionate” card. They want us to know that they can ultimately forgive and get past Trump’s many transgressions. They are such good people, you know, forgiving the unforgivable.
Fifth, they will insist upon a quid pro quo ... we forgive Donald, and so the right must stop pressing about Hunter et al.
Then again, it may be a signal that the Democrats don’t need contributions from its voters due to the huge amount of ‘dark money’ used to rig the elections.
