Yeah, he really did that. Folks, I’m not sharing this to be snarky about Ron DeSantis per se’, this isn’t actually his messaging. It’s worth looking at this through the prism of who is operating the management, branding and communication effort. This level of ridiculous religious pandering is stunningly identical to Ted Cruz in the early 2016 GOP nomination.
The DeSantis campaign knows they need to target evangelical and faith-based voters. Put a group of people who are not actually centered on the principles of faith in charge of a political campaign, tell them they need to appeal to faith-based voters, and this is exactly what you get.
The DeSantis campaign organizes what should be an interview with friendly allies in the Christian Broadcasting Network. [Full Interview Here] CBN’s David Brody then interviews Ron DeSantis asking him what historic figures he would associate himself with. DeSantis’s answer is so far beyond pandering cringe, it makes you seriously wonder who constructed this messaging for him [likely, Jeff Roe]. WATCH:

Trump needs to come to the end of his self and be Born Again.
Anybody can call themselves anything, even Christian ... One must need know the teachings of Christ to actually be a disciple ... Many are called but few are chosen... some are mere seed planters ever read the parable of the Sower?
See, you need a teacher ... John 3 is to Nicodemus Christ teaching him the book of Jude ... The fallen angels will not be born of woman the WATER and SPIRIT. They will not be 'born' from above ...
Christ came to this earth first at the conception ... His Soul/Spirit were planted in Mary ... HE came from ABOVE ..... NOT AGAIN.
Now there is a multitude written about in Romans by Paul who are under the spirit of slumber ... The Heavenly Father place it over them and no amount of fire, hell, and damnation by some want’a’be disciple is going to remove that Heaven sent slumber.
Shouldn’t all followers of Christ be disciples?
He has already claimed GOD made him a fighter ...
So did Rush Limbaugh
“WoW... None of the Apostles carried a begging money bag ...”
One was a tax collector though, which is like a money thieving bag.
“President Trump is not out actively proclaiming himself to be sent from GOD... Since he has NOT said he would like to be a disciple of Jesus, you are just huffing and puffing away.”
Declaring that DeSantis saying he would like to be a disciple of Jesus equates with him saying he was sent from God is just more of your Trump-obsessed creative interpretation of theology.
“I characterize President Trump’s love of country and charitable deeds cover a multitude of sins...”
My, isn’t that God-like of you. Another example of your Trump-obsessed creative interpretation of theology.
“This is a false characterization of what he said.”
Whaaat? You mean...they are lying about Ron DeSantis???
I’m shocked, I tells ya. Shocked!!!
Using Marxist tactics to destroy DeSantis reeks of ....well.....Marxism. I have to wonder if these people really are “on the right side”. Perhaps they’re only here to manipulate opinions, propagandize and divide and conquer. You know....exactly like the radical left does.
JEFFROE BODINE STRIKES AGAIN! TEDLIM II!
AAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
“....those that hear something else are ignorant of the words of Scripture.”
Or anti-Christian. There’s not a damn thing wrong with what DeSantis said. What is wrong is how the heathens and liars will twist what he said into something bad.
Exactly.
“And on the 8th day God made Ron DeSantis” 😆
“He has already claimed GOD made him a fighter ...
So did Rush Limbaugh”
And I truly believe that both of them were or are correct re: that.
I like Trump. I like DeSantis. They are both good men, we would be fortunate to have either one of them in the White House.
There are good reasons to choose one over the other, but this is a particularly silly point of attack.
Many of us here count ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Let’s move this thread to the Ir-Religious Forum please LOFL!
C’mon man, don’t go pointing out their hypocrisy :)
Agree 100%.
I can't find anything wrong with what he said. It's commendable. I think his handlers made a mistake filming him with the lighting shining behind his head to produce a kind of halo effect. That was a bit over the top.
Of course, Trump has proven he has strong support from Christians. In Utah, my Mormon brother Bill and his wife had doubts about Trump in 2016, but given a few years in office they were mighty impressed with the "results" he achieved on issues they cared about. Trumped walked his talk.
Bill was also active in the Republican party and he attended the meeting where Romney got a cool reception and abruptly stopped his speech and left the stage.
We know Jesus was strong to throw out the money-changers and merchants in the Temple. Likewise, we have Uniparty politicians accepting bribes and collecting millions in payoffs in our Capitol, the temple of We the American People. I look forward to hearing what DeSantis will do to those corrupt politicians out.
