Florida Governor Ron DeSantis condemned the federal indictment of former President Donald Trump — and used his statement about it to campaign.
DeSantis posted a statement about the “weaponization of federal law enforcement” to his Twitter account on Thursday evening.
“The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society,” DeSantis began. “We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation.”
The tweet continued, “Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?”
DeSantis then quickly switched gears to campaign for himself.
“The DeSantis administration will bring accountability to the DOJ, excise political bias and end weaponization once and for all,” the governor concluded.
The Department of Justice has indicted former President Donald Trump on seven counts related to handling classified documents, according to reports.
Trump responded to the federal charges by declaring, “I AM INNOCENT” in multiple posts on Truth Social.
This is the first time in the history of the United States that a former president has faced federal charges.

I’m not in any way committed to Desantis or even leaning toward him, but, hello, why exactly is this controversial or out of bounds? Desantis is running for president. He says, “Look, this Trump indictment is example of the DOJ needs to be cleaned up, and my administration will do that.” That seems to me to be legitimate argument... and, frankly, far better than bullcrap about how Andy Cuomo handled Covid better than RDS.
He is a former Federal prosecutor himself, and for many of us this means he has a lower public standing than a child molester and should be disqualified from ever holding public office.
How long is DeSantis supposed to suspend his campaign in protest for?
Trump has an indictment now in Florida, one more coming in DC, and he already has a trial in New York. When is this going to end? Next Tuesday? It’s never going to end.

I didn’t get that interpretation, that he was equating Trump and Hillary and Biden, regarding classified information.
I didn’t get the interpretation that DeSantis is saying that they are all crooks, but every Freeper is entitled to his/her opinion.
