I wanted to expand on my answer is a real world discussion from my younger days.
I was a part of the conservative movement in Boston back in the 1970s. I hung out with all the key players—and considered them to be my friends.
One of those individuals was named David Brudnoy.

David was brilliant, hilariously funny, an excellent public speaker and a wonderful spokesperson for our side.
However he had one little secret—he was gay.
Everyone in the movement knew that—even though he used a woman as a “beard” in public appearances in the early days.
I did not hold that against him...until...
One day I saw him trying to flirt with a male teenager.
In private later I was in his face—and I told him such behavior was unacceptable and he needed to stop doing it.
He promised me he would—and that was the end of that topic.
Later he “came out”, got AIDS, etc etc etc.
I think I handled it correctly. I treated him with respect while making my values crystal clear—and I think he respected me for that.
They’ve shut down their Twitter acct, deleted all of the comments except for one. Apparently, only allowing “positive” comments at FB. Cowards.
Copied from CB’s website.
In 2021, Cracker Barrel scored 80 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index. This national benchmarking tool measures policies, practices, and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) employees and is a primary driving force for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
Bingo. My wife and I used to stop at Cracker Barrel while travelling in the southeast. NO MORE. Mom and Pop places from here on. I hate being put in this position because the waitresses and other employees will suffer, but dammit, I won’t put up with this crap. Go woke, go broke. I decide where I spend my hard earned money and it won’t be with a bunch of damn degenerites.
F them. I don’t patronize Satanists.
Except white heterosexuals.
My husband and I have eaten at Cracker Barrel for decades. Yes, we are from the Midwest. And again yes we are seniors, married 53 years.
We have started to notice CB food quality has dropped significantly. If you like fried chicken they have it on the menu in just about every shape and form.
I actually love to shop their decorations and clothes.
They have starting letting animals in. I like this as I don’t have to worry about dog in car when we travel. (We still keep her in her travel case.) We love to take our grandkids there for pancakes.
Having said all that, I’m very seriously considering not patronizing them anymore. Makes me sad. At least I have great memories of family and friends sharing meals there. When the salvation army went woke it saddened me too.
“Makes me sad.”
Makes me angry—we really enjoyed stopping there when traveling.
I am seeing the enemy occupying our country—step by step.
Scratched from my lunch list...
Makes sad and angry.
Thanks! I missed that one somehow.
I wonder if there’s a correlation? Go woke, start using toxic seed and GMO soybean oils in your food?
This is being pushed onto the Cracker Barrel by the institutional stockholders who do this to company after company after buying up a large number of shares and then insist upon progressive activist-supporting policies at those companies.
BlackRock and Vanguard are now two of the largest shareholders in Cracker Barrel.
Does anyone know of a website that keeps track of the larger companies that have gone woke?
