The Texas State House voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, effectively suspending him from legal authority within the state until an impeachment trial can be held in the State Senate. There are 20 articles of impeachment [READ HERE]. The vote to adopt the 20 articles of impeachment was 121-23, with most of the Texas state republicans voting in alignment with the Texas democrats.

altPeople are shocked when I share the opinion that Texas is not near the top of the Republican states considered deep red “conservative” or freedom/values based. Of the mostly visible 30 states you might consider ‘conservative’ or ‘freedom balanced’, Texas wouldn’t appear in the top five; today’s vote in the Texas state house is just another datapoint in that direction.

TEXAS – In a history-making late-afternoon vote, a divided Texas House chose Saturday to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, temporarily removing him from office over allegations of misconduct that included bribery and abuse of office.

The vote to adopt the 20 articles of impeachment was 121-23, with three members absent.

Attention next shifts to the Texas Senate, which will conduct a trial with senators acting as jurors and designated House members presenting their case as impeachment managers. Permanently removing Paxton from office and barring him from holding future elected office in Texas would require the support of two-thirds of senators. (read more)

The Texas Republicans who voted to remove the conservative AG, are the typical Texas RINO, Bush and DeSantis support group. Understanding the dynamic, President Trump has promised to fight the Texas Republicans as they attack Ken Paxton.

121-23 is a pretty strong indication of something fishy going on, I have no idea what.

You didn’t answer the question!
What is this all about?
Is there any validity to the charges?

Here's all you need to know. Paxton won the 2022 primary 42.7% but had to do a "runoff" with GEORGE P. BUSH who had 22.8%. Two others took the rest. Paxton beat GEORGE P. BUSH in the runoff 68% to 32%.

“Isn’t that what Democrats are supposed to do ??”

No, by the mere fact that the House Democrats voted unanimously to impeach Ken Paxton shows that there was no investigation of the charges, nor was there an unbiased deliberation by Democrats of the unjustified accusations against the Attorney General.

Is the Governor even aware of this and why hasn’t he said something.

From all accounts by the Attorney General, Texas Conservatives, and President Trump, it is all a vendetta cloaked in rumor and innuendo, to destroy the integrity of Ken Paxton.

121-23 vote is hard to believe its all due to Bush cabal interests. That lopsided a vote sure looks like there is serious suspicion that Paxton did something questionable. You going to tell almost the entirety of the state GOP legislators are in the Bush cabal?

Be serious, you and I both know the Democrats are never going to do that, they had a chance to kick a Republican they despise to the curb and took it.

If someone like Adam Schiff was in the same situation as Paxton, you and I both would be demanding Republicans vote to kick his ass back to California.

“By 121-23? I don’t know enough about this story - is there real substance to the charges?”

Those margins are not surprising to me anymore, after watching the 2020 election get so blatantly stolen, and zero Republicans lifting a finger to stop it.

After watching Trump get dragged through the mud for nothing for 7 years, and zero Republicans lifting a finger to stop it.

After watching the southern border be overrun, and zero Republicans lifting a finger to stop it.

Well, maybe one or two Republicans lifted a finger - including Ken Paxton - and look what’s happening to him.

The fact is, politicians enter public service poor, and end up fabulously rich -as long as they play the game. If they don’t play - they get their lives ruined. So they play. That’s Democrat and Republican politicians alike, with very few exceptions.

Sadly, 121-23 does not surprise me - it is probably an accurate reflection of the corruption in government - if not a bit understated.

The Democrats are likely 100% corrupt. The Republicans - 90% and change.

Obama spent 8 years weaponizing the government against We the People - which makes it nearly impossible for an honest politician to survive at all, much less faithfully represent his constituency.

Let me guess, he’s going to fire off a few tweets from the golf course and call it a day. Has a YMCA disco party at his house to attend to this evening.

“The Democrats are likely 100% corrupt. The Republicans - 90% and change.”

Correct answer.

Defending any politician without knowing all the facts is a long shot bet these days.

There have been many conservative politicians over the years that betrayed the public trust—just more liberal ones.

If the situation was reversed, I know I would want Republicans to vote to impeach a Democrat in a similar situation.

Surrrre you would.

They needed to get rid of Paxton so that Texas can be the next state to turn “blue”. Paxton was stopping them from implementing the election fraud that they have successfully done in so many swing states. Now, they can rid themselves of Senator Cruz through ballot fraud. Watch for the polls to show a close race between Cruz and the democrat candidate for Senate. The media can publish stories stating that Cruz is in trouble so that people will not be surprised when he loses re-election.

I think Sundance includes DeSantis in a tangential way as being nothing more than an avatar of the U.S. Chamber of Crypto-Fascist Crony Commerce as are most of the Texas Republican legislators it seems. Read his article entitled “Donald Trump’s America First -vs- Ron DeSantis and the Multinationals” to catch my drift.

No investigation. No presenting of evidence. No debate. Just impeach. That’s a witch hunt.

The people voted for Ken Paxton, knowing all of the things that he is currently being accused of. They (we) voted for him anyway.

Therefore, this is an illegal impeachment.

SUBCHAPTER D. OTHER REMOVAL PROVISIONS

Sec. 665.081. NO REMOVAL FOR ACTS COMMITTED BEFORE ELECTION TO OFFICE. (a) An officer in this state may not be removed from office for an act the officer may have committed before the officer’s election to office.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. We all know Trump was not part of the establishment team when he ran against JEB, their chosen candidate, in 2016 and won. This Texas impeachment scam is just another manifestation of the struggle between the established political elites and Trump’s ‘America First’ base.
