Don't be alarmed, but Dianne Feinstein seems to have forgotten being absent from the Capitol for three months

When Slate is reporting on this kind of Democratic embarrassment, you know it's bad:

When [a] reporter asked her what the response from her colleagues had been like since her return, though, the conversation took an odd turn.

"No, I haven't been gone," she said.

OK.

"You should follow the — I haven't been gone. I've been working."

When asked whether she meant that she'd been working from home, she turned feisty.

"No, I've been here. I've been voting," she said. "Please. You either know or don't know."

Cannot imagine what it was like being in that elevator and witnessing that exchange.

As Slate points out, Feinstein has "been in Washington and voting for the past week." But of course it's obvious what a question about her absence would be referring to.

That she appears to have forgotten it is of bizarre and troubling concern, particularly because she wields such power on the Senate Judiciary Committee as well as providing "a pivotal Democratic vote in the full body," as Slate put it.

Someone please tell this friendly elderly woman that it is time to retire. Please.

Another case for term limits.

I read that the state Democrat Party didn’t want her last time, but she won because of California’s stupid election system.

She looks unwell.

Term limits could work, but it will take a lot of work to get an Amendment to the Constitution ratified.

If that bug-eyed slimeball is the best they have, I understand why the powers that be might be looking for an alternative to Schiffty.

“No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting,”

That’s precisely what we’re afraid of!

Biden can top that he forgot being in Ireland after only a few weeks of being their.

They have to have a OVER HERE sign just to get him off a stage.

Don’t get me wrong; I hated her guts back then, but now she needs a restful place until her time is past. She’s a rutabaga.

I’d pay big bucks to see Feinstein and Fetterman interviewed together on TV. Think of the conversation a skilled interviewer could prompt between the two.

Maybe they could toss in Biden into the mix to really improve the discourse.

Make it pay-per-view and make a fortune!

Considering that the amendment process is in the hands of officeholders, that effort is probably DOA.

Perhaps it’s time to make term limits the law?

It should apply to all government employees, federal, state and local, politicians, hourly workers, union employees, etc. If you were elected to your post or someone who was hired you, term limits applies.

I’d suggest 20 years or when you reach 65, which ever comes first.

Politicians are a special case since they are not “hired.” 12 years for them and they have free reign to choose how those years are spent.

Two terms as a Senator, 5 as a representative and 12 years total if combined

She thinks it is 1985 and will do anything to stop President Reagan. Expect UpChuck Schumer to have her staff vote for her.

Thanks. I coined that many years ago. File the serial numbers off and use it often.
