Newsmax will launch a new prime-time show hosted by Chris Plante beginning on Monday, May 8, at 9 p.m. ET.
"Chris Plante The Right Squad" will be an exciting panel show led by Plante and will include Newsmax veteran Jenn Pellegrino along with three other regular panelists.
The show marks a major new addition to the Newsmax lineup that begins each night with Greta Van Susteren's "The Record," followed by "Rob Schmitt Tonight," and "Eric Bolling The Balance."
A seasoned television journalist and syndicated radio host, Plante each weekday night will join with "The Right Squad" as his team features strong analysis with dynamic conversation and debates.
"The Right Squad" will talk about the major events that are affecting America — and no topic will be off-limits.
Plante is known to audiences for his quick wit, cutting analysis of social and political issues, and his ability to put current news events into context.
"Chris Plante is an award-winning journalist who delivers fact-based news and opinion while keeping the conversation fun and interesting," Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said. "We are proud he is joining the Newsmax team after years of success at CNN and Cumulus/Westwood One."
Plante is currently the host of "The Chris Plante Show," heard on Washington, D.C.'s, WMAL and syndicated nationally by Westwood One to over 100 stations across the nation. Previously, Plante spent 17 years at CNN with a focus on the Pentagon and national security matters.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the outstanding team at Newsmax and getting to work on a great show dedicated to carving through the fluff to get at the unfiltered truth," Plante said, adding, "And whoever it was that said you can't get the occasional laugh out of today's crazy news obviously did not know me."

He’s great but his strong point is how well he interacts with callers on WMAL. Will he do this on a cable show? I doubt it.
The best lineup on TV.
He has a great sense of humor... that can often carry a person far....
I’ve been watching Newsmax post-Tucker an am impressed. Always did like Eric Bolling - it’s like the old FNC. Would be awesome if Tucker ends up running it.
I read the headline and thought “Great, the guy from Guardians of the Galaxy and The Office is doing a show on Newsmax!” Then I saw the photo and said “Crap, wrong guy.”
I would love to see a cable show with live callers.
Same. I too am impressed with Bolling.
He has done large meet and greets around DC for years they are sold out and very entertaining. NewsMax is going for the content grab while Fox lowers by the shovelful.
Plante is the only talk show host that approaches Rush Limbaugh’s talent
I must agree. I try not to miss Chris Plante’s radio show. I am listening to his podcast now.
He’s in a very competitive spot also... right across from Glen Beck. I’ll often start my morning with Beck and switchover to Plante as Beck more often than not bores me.
Greg Kelly also has a great Newsmax show at 9PM Central.
I like Rob Schmitt and Greta
Plante has a great weekend NewsMax show, “the Biden Chronicals” with Joe’s gaffs. Entertaining!
I too like Greta, but for goodness sake, the lighting on her show is horrendous it makes her look mean, ugly and old. And I know she is a sweetheart so they need to improve that area. They need a new stage crew to improve all the lighting on newsmax!
Great news! I’ve been listening to & enjoying his radio show on-line (WMAL-FM) for years; extremely knowledgeable & witty. Have also been enjoying Rob Schmitt’s show on NewsMax.
We go from 7:30pm Jeopardy to Newsmax now rather than to Fox. Newsmax is our primary news source and will be for a long time.
A conservative with a humorous, entertaining delivery.
He has a good sense of humor as well.
