This isn’t an article I thought I’d be writing, but Donald Trump has left me no choice. The former president came out in support of Disney on Tuesday morning, slamming Ron DeSantis for fighting back against the woke multi-national corporation.
That comes a day after DeSantis announced that Disney broke the law in trying to undermine a new state-appointed board put in place to control the company’s special district. The Florida legislature is now moving to void all the last-minute deals made by the old board, and it appears they are on very solid legal ground in doing so.
Yet, in a statement put out on Truth Social, Trump bemoaned the battle against Disney, suggesting that the company would cut investment in Florida and sell all its properties (presumably to move Disney World to another state). As I’ll discuss below, that’s absolutely not going to happen, but first, here’s the post.
Trump surrenders again. Surrenders to donor money. Surrenders to Bud Light. Surrenders to trans. Surrenders to Disney. Weak!

Trump taking Disney’s side in its battle against DeSantis happened just days after Donald Trump Jr. urged conservatives to end an ongoing boycott against Bud Light. In both cases, it appears the Trumps are more worried about donor money than winning important cultural battles. That’s not exactly comforting given Trump is running on fighting and cleaning up Washington, DC. If he can’t stand firm against a company as blatantly woke as Disney, then that calls into question his resolve to face down any serious cultural challenge. If you aren’t even willing to face down Disney, you aren’t going to defeat the deep state.
As to this notion that Florida is going to sell its properties so we should leave them alone, that’s cowardly talk. Disney World and its adjacent properties are twice the size of Manhattan. There are tens of billions of dollars tied up in everything that is built there. Not only would they never find a buyer, but they would never be able to afford to rebuild what they’ve already got in Florida. Never mind that there is essentially nowhere else in the country with the weather necessary except California, and Disney is obviously not going to have just one park in the least business-friendly states in the union.
The reality is that conservatives have near-total leverage over Disney. Trump is suggesting completely giving up all the leverage for nothing in return. Why? One might speculate that it’s because Disney executives donated tens of millions of dollars to Trump in 2020.
I realize pointing this out is going to anger some people who don’t want to face what’s happening, but Trump has a problem when it comes to being kowtowed by donors. The whole “rich people can’t be controlled thing” is a farce because Trump was never going to self-fund a 2024 campaign. I can only judge him by his actions, and the last week has been eye-opening.
The fight against Disney is too important, both politically and culturally, to give up on. There is no more important issue than protecting children. It is not a “political stunt” to try to do so, and if Trump thinks that, that’s a huge red flag.
I realize Trump is just doing the opposite of whatever DeSantis is doing, but that’s not an excuse. The Republican Party needs leaders who will fight the tough battles and follow through even when there are roadblocks and it’s not politically convenient to do so. If Trump isn’t going to be that guy, he doesn’t need to be the 2024 nominee. We’ll see if he offers a course correction.
You really should keep up on the story. Disney was in such a hurry to pull a fast one that they screwed up the process, so that the little stunt they tried is null and void. They missed one of the notice requirements for the hearings and the clause they put in for the expiration of the agreements is invalid. So Desantis will just move ahead with his plans. Disney can try to fight in court, but good luck with that in the Florida court system, which is heavily GOP, especially at the appellate level. And if Disney keeps this up, the legislature is prepared to take further action. So no, Disney did not out maneuver Desantis.
He’d be working on the squatter mess apparently..
Is that screen capture not real?
Is Mickey Mouse brought to heel?
No.
It’s a continuous saga, right?
There’s more steps that the Legislature has had to work on, right?
DeSantis and Florida get points for taking on Disney.
They don’t get points for winning against Disney yet..
I’d tell Trump to go to hell but he’s already there. And his loss in 2024 will probably result in communism in America. What a loser. He had it all, blew it, and will likely destroy the country.
Trump is a shame.
If Disney leaves Florida children will be safer.
“If Disney leaves Florida children will be safer.”
Yeah, there are tons of amusement parks in FL if nothing else for the year-round climate. Anyone driving I4 to Orlando can find a more adventurous, inexpensive and parent-friendly park in Kissimmee at Fun Spot America, https://fun-spot.com/kissimmee/. Best for kids age 3 - 18. With no witchcraft, piracy or pedophilia themes.
“but threatening to put a prison right next to Disney’s park is kind of counter productive. I don’t think any Governor should be actively working to...”
Protect children and families from predators?
Me, I think WDW should be bulldozed and the ground salted. Luring children in to prey upon them. Then advocating for sexual exploitation of children and condoning pedophilia/sexualization of childhood!
Seize it. Burn it down. Bulldoze the rubble into the ground.
-For the children.
Thanky

Disney isn’t a major issue many other way to handle them on the side lines I’m sure Trump very well understands how.
It’s an issue the congress needs to step up to no EO’s laws are required to end the loony mess the left generated.
The mask is coming off on the Trump family and their Dimocrat belief system. Between junior begging to go easy on Bud Light and now Don taking up for Disney. The Trump family message is clear that they will accept any perversion of American society by these radical left groomer organizations as long as they open up their checkbooks.
I didn’t read Trump’s statement as pro Disney.
As for Junior, whatever beer he wants to drink, I hope the Libs who want to do anything opposite of what Don Jr wants, thinks about a Bud boycott because Junior wants it to end..
That way, both sides are squeezing Bud from their respective sides..
Enjoy the campaign season!
To the extent that this is true, stop it, DJT. But if the media said it, question it.
If we don’t stay united at this critical juncture and defeat the totalitarians it won’t matter. DeSantis doesn’t seem to get that.
The prison he wants to build will be where he will put the convicted pedophiles, so the Disney workers will have a daily reminder as they clock in and out.
GoRon!
Desantis made a joke about putting a prison there. Watch the video. You can see him grin when he says it. He is trolling and you fell for it.

It’s inappropriate and authoritarian. Do you think if the director of the IRS jokes about using it to attack the opposition party, it would be appropriate?
I love Trump but this is not a good look for Trump-he is taking Disney’s side-cuz he wants to slam DeSantis-stupid-they are not going anywhere-this will just set Trump up for loss in general election
